Party Time And Forgiving Words

"You know, I'm not sure I want to go to this party anymore Mikey. I don't even think we should be going. We're obviously not welcome, as well as-"

"Don't you even dare Envy Moore. You are not bailing out on me, especially this close to the party."

I sighed, nodding my head. "I'm not going to bail out on you Mikey. I'm just showing my discomfort for us going. You know I wouldn't just leave you alone. Who knows what trouble you would cause."

Mikey stuck his tongue out at me, pushing me lightly. I gave him a smile as I reached into my pocket for my house key.

"I'll come pick you up at eight, then we'll head out, alright?"

"Yes ma'am," he replied, giving me a fake salute before continuing on to his own home.

I walked into my house, which was empty, seeing as my father was at work. Since the house was completely quiet, the ringing of the phone caught me off guard, scaring the living crap out of me. After a few seconds of calming down, I picked it up.

"Hello?" I said, feeling out of breath.

"Hey Envy!" the familiar voice of Scott said through the phone.

"How did you get my phone number?" I asked him.

"From Bob. Anyway, like we said yesterday, it's getting pretty hectic over here. We've called in everyone and still need help."

"I'm, uh, kind of rideless right now."

"Damn," he cursed.

"Maybe I can pick you up real quick?" he suggested moments later.

"That could work, I don't live too far away."

"Alright, just give me your address and I'll be there as soon as possible."

As soon as I gave him all the information and hung up the phone, I gave a loud groan. Who knows how long I would be working; there was probably going to be no time to rest before I had to drive Mikey and I to the party.

I quickly ran up the stairs, freshening up a bit so I didn't look completely worn out. Scott honked the horn from the driveway fifteen minutes later. I made sure everything was in check, wrote a note to tell my father where I was going to be when he got home, then quickly headed out the door. Apparently, I had taken too long to come outside, so Scott was leaning against his vehicle, taking slow drags from a cigarette between his fingers.

"About time V, did you have to shower or something?"

"Sorry, I was ending world hunger, you know how long that can take sometimes," I said sincerely, getting into the passenger side of the car. "How is everything going down at the shop?"

"Not too good," he answered, getting inside and starting to drive away, "We got this new CD in from some boy band not too long ago and it's being released to the public today. Now we have every preteen girl from a thirty mile radius inside of the store demanding music and posters."

"This isn't sounding fun at all," I confessed. Scott just shrugged.

"You do what you have to for money babe."

With the man speeding like a crazy maniac, we were in front of our destination in no time. From the outside, I could see how crowded it was in the store.

"Awe man."

The two of us rushed inside, squeezing and pushing our way through throngs of girls to get to the registers. I saw there were three more employees that I had not met before working with individual girls.

"Envy, that's Joey, German, and Romeo. Guys, meet our newbie."

"Nice to meet you," they all said, kind of distracted, but still giving me grins.

"Let's do this."

~~~~~
"Thanks for the ride Sugar Ray!" I shouted as Ray drove away towards his home, his hand waving to me from out of his window.
Letting out a tired sigh, I opened the door to my house and walked inside. The smell of hamburgers wafted through my nose and I started to drool. "Home!"
"How was work?" Dad yelled from the kitchen.
I went to stop into the kitchen before heading up to my room. "It was super busy, which is why I was gone when you got home. But I did get to meet all the employees."
"Do you have time to have dinner with your old dad before you head off to that party?"
"I have to go and get ready or Mikey will bite my head off for being late."
"Don't worry about it V, I actually have some friends that are coming over. Having ourselves a get together."
"An old people's version of a high school party."
"I'm not old!" he defended, even though not even a minute or so ago he had called himself old.
"Don't break a hip," I shouted down to him as I made my way up the stairs and into my room.
I quickly showered, applied a small amount of make up, and dressed myself in white shorts and a yellow tank top. Brushing my hair back one last time, I put a hairband on my head, then went back downstairs. The first floor of the house wasn't as empty as it had been when I left because now there were around five people sitting in my living room talking to one another.
"Um, hello," I greeted awkwardly, scratching the back of my neck.
"Oh, hi! You much be Josh's daughter!" one of the women said excitedly, about to get up.
"Don't bother the poor girl darling, she looks like she's going out somewhere tonight," the man beside her said, giving me a gentle smile.
"Come down to say goodbye before you head off?" Dad asked me, coming out of no where.
"Yep," I voiced, giving him a hug and a kiss on the cheek, "I promise not to be out too late."
"Good girl."
"Uh, bye everyone."
"Bye!"
I took the keys to my father's van and headed outside. I backed up then went down one house from mine. Honking the horn, I waited for Mikey to come out. As I waited, I looked at the invitation, memorizing the address I would be trying to find.
"Hey!" Mikey said, out of breath as he got into the car.
"What, did you run a mile?"
"I ran out here as fast as I could. I do have asthma you know."
"Are you ready?"
"Ready to party!"
"This is going to be a long night..."
~~~~~

When Mikey and I pulled up to the house, it was exactly how I had imagined it. Loud music blasted from the building, trash littered the yard, and lots of couples were out front, doing things that should be kept private.

"Awesome!" the boy beside me squealed. Yes, squealed.

"Are you kidding me? This is a disaster waiting to happen."

"You are such a pessimist!"

"Am not," I argued, stepping out of the van.

"Will you at least try to enjoy yourself? This is a party."

"Yeah, whatever."

The two of us walked into the house full of dancing teens drinking alcoholic beverages. I scrunched my nose, looking around at everyone. Friends were talking and having a good time, boys were dancing with the girls, trying to get lucky tonight. This really didn't seem to be my scene.

I saw a couple of drunken guys staring at me, as well as throwing winks my way, which made me move closer to Mikey. He looked down at me.

"Don't you dare leave my side tonight."

The boy laughed, pushing up his glasses. "Come on, let loose."

"You can do that, you're a guy. I'm a poor, innocent girl that's being preyed upon."

"You can always break their noses."

"Oh yeah, there's that."

Mikey walked us into the kitchen, looking around for drinks. There were cans of beer on the counter, random red cups filled with a mysterious liquid, and large bottles of liquor.

"Ugh, I hate beer," my friend sighed, opening the fridge and finding a couple bottles of water. He threw me one, and we drank them quickly.

"Come on," I said with a smile, "show me your dance moves."

I dragged him out on the dance floor/ living room where the music was the loudest. We both started to dance, shaking and moving to the rhythm. There weren't any words to the song, none that I could hear anyway, so I just swayed my hips to what I could feel.

While I continued to dance to a couple more songs, I slowly began slipping away from Mikey and I didn't realize it until I went to ask him if he wanted to sit down for a while.

"Oh great," I moaned, standing on my tip toes to see if I could spot the teen from where I was located.

"What are you doing here?" I heard someone shout over the loud music. Turning around, I came face to face with none other than Frank Iero, someone I wanted to avoid tonight.

"I was invited," I said with an attitude, folding my arms across my chest. The boy grabbed my forearm and dragged me out of the crowded dance floor, where it was way quieter.

"Yeah, you were invited before you punched my friend in the face!"

"Look," I started, glaring down at him, "I didn't want to come here okay? I'm only here because of Mikey."

"And where is he?"

"We got separated."

Frank snorted, giving me a cocky look. "Got separated huh? Some friend you are."

"A better friend than you are," I hissed, going to walk away and find Mikey, but Frankie pulled me back again.

"And what the hell do you mean by that?"

"Didn't I explain it before? You abandoned all of your friends and you don't even care about them anymore."

"That's not true-"

"Don't even Frank," I said, pushing him back a few steps, "You don't even realized how much you've missed. Roxy and Gerard are together, did you know that? Did you even know that they liked each other? Bert doesn't even seem the same anymore. He misses you so much, and sometimes he still thinks you're there. You even made Taylor cry, do you know how hard that is?"

I turned my back on him, biting my lip as I started to cry. Wow, what a big loser I was, crying over him.

"Envy, I-"

"As well as what you've done to me Frank! We seemed like the best of friends. Then you go and leave me, leave us. For Alice and Todd of all people! And there isn't even a good explanation as to why. I miss you Frank, you damn Pansy!"

Frank touched my shoulder and I turned around to face him, not afraid to show him how emotional that he had made me. His face was full of guilt, and I could tell right then and there that he realized how much he had hurt me and his friends.

"I'm so sorry Envy. For everything. I wasn't there for such a long time, and I ignored all of you guys. I can't believe I was so stupid, but this life style just swept me in so deep and... I'm sorry."

"I can't forgive you right now, and you're going to have to earn everyone's trust back little by little."

"Yeah... I know," he said, looking down at his feet.

I let out a shaky breath, and then pulled the smaller boy into a hug, squeezing him tightly. He didn't hesitate in hugging me back. "I missed you Envy, all of you guys."
