Kevin and Jennifer have been best friends since they were kids, but when Jen begins to date Eli Cross, the school's notorious playboy, that friendship is tested. Kevin notices things about Eli and Audrey - Eli's sister - that no one else seems to realize: pearly skin, jeweled eyes, emotions being sucked from Kevin's very body, and strange powers of mind control. Everything seems to be centered around the Cross siblings. But what are they? What dangers do they present to Kevin, and more importantly to her friends and family? And are they the only dangers out there?
