The Natives

"It's this one on the the right," I said as we pulled up to the house.
I was expecting Matt to slow down and push me out of the car, but he didn't. He stopped and parked, letting me go free of my own will. I didn't get out though. I clasped my hands together and looked at him. He smiled.
"You can go now," he said.
"Matt?" I said. "What if you're right? What if he really is just a cocky bastard?"
"Then..." Matt thought for a second before smiling and saying, "I guess I get to say I told you so and do a little happy dance."
I punched his shoulder, but I couldn't help but smile. Mainly because he actually would do something like that. I got out of the car. I shut the door, but I leaned in the car again through the window.
"Thanks, Matt," I said.
He smiled. "No problem, Kara."
He waited until Ashley opened the door before he drove away- slowly, but he drove away. Ashley smiled when he saw me, and he bent down to kiss me. It was too forced, I could tell, but I smiled anyway. How had this gone so downhill? It was so perfect the first date, and now it was just...awkward.
Ashley took my hand and led me into the house. I sat down in the living room chair as he went to grab some drinks, and I observed his decor around the room. It was too organized, I noted, at least for a guy. And everything matched. None of the guys I knew had got matching furniture on their own. I'd had to help Aron, and even then it was crappy mismatched shit. It just didn't fit.
Ashley came back with a couple beers. He handed one to me and sat down on the couch. It was then I saw the hunger flash in his eyes and heard the low growl in his voice as he said, "What would you like to do tonight, Miss Kara?"
I grimaced, knowing full well what he would like to do. I should have been alarmed, but I wasn't. In fact, I moved a slight bit closer to him.
He leaned toward me and brought his lips to mine slowly. He put one hand on the back of my neck and began to work his way down with his mouth, biting and sucking at every bit he could get. A wave of sensation rose through me when his other hand moved slowly up my leg to my thigh, then to the waist of my shorts.
Impulse came over me as I put my arms around his neck and brought him down on top of me. He chuckled deeply and worked his hands up to take off my shirt, and I let him without trouble. I don't know why I was letting him, after all the awkward air I let get between us. Probably because I hadn't had anyone since Alex. It'd been at least two months without sex, which was long enough for me. After all, I grew up with the infamous men of Hollywood Undead. I'd learned from the- best? Worst?
His pants were half down when there was a knock on the door and a woman said, "Ash, I forgot my tickets."
The door opened and a tall blonde walked in. My eyes widened as Ashley fell off the couch and stood up, buttoning his pants. I pulled my shirt on and stood up.
"Ashley, who the fuck is this?" demanded the woman.
"I'm his girlfriend," I said. "Who are you?"
"I'm his wife," she snapped.
I turned slowly to him. "You're married? And you didn't fucking tell me-"
"Kara, I didn't-"
"You're a sick puppy, you know that?" I said. I turned to the woman. "I'm so sorry. If I'd known, I wouldn't be here."
With that, I left. I didn't want to be in the middle of a tiff between spouses. I walked to the end of the street before I picked up my phone. I dialed Matt's number hesitantly, and I waited.
"Yo?" he said.
"Matt, come get me," I said.
"What? Why? What's wrong?"
"Just...please."
"Alright, I'm coming."
I hung up and sat down on the curb. Maybe I'd get lucky and somebody'd curb-stomp me. No, couldn't get that lucky. Instead I would have to deal with the "I told you so"s and the "that's what you get"s. I shook my head and sighed.
Matt pulled up a few moments later, and I got in the car. I didn't say anything to him, and he didn't say anything to me. I put a hand over my forehead and leaned against the window.
"Kara?" said Matt.
I ignored him.
"Kara, I-"
"Drive, Matt," I snapped. "Just...drive."
