‹ Prequel: For Tomorrow

The Future Looks Bright

Gage hasn't been the same. Not since Quincy left. It's not like he got up and walked out of Gage's life because he didn't. Quincy's liver failed: He's dead. Gage's broken heart, he was positive, wasn't going to heal. Gage can't stop thinking about Quincy. Gage misses him so much. Gage misses everything from the feel of Quincy's touches, kisses, to the way Quincy made him feel so good, so happy, so breathless. Gage can't let go because he's scared he'll forget.

Vinny, though, prepares himself for each day. He refuses to talk about his childhood, and maybe that's what draws people to him. He's a quiet mystery. Vin visits his cousin, Trent, the summer after his graduation. Vin didn't really expect to meet anyone that is so depressed, so unstable that makes him want to help. Dravin thinks he knows what will help this graduate, but he doesn't really know that he's competing with a dead boyfriend.
