I find Frederick across the street a few miles away from home.
I'm not sure where I am, but it feels better than being in a house filled with
anger and resentment.
I call the dog and he looks over at me.
Happy.
I wonder why he ever even left in the first place.
He starts across the street and then,
Screech,
Swerve,
Crash.

In a moment, everything can change.
