You Implied That You Would Wait For Me Chapter 5

“Grace!” I called to her once I walked into the house.
“What?” she whined.
“You are so dead!”
“Mom!”
“Kids! What is going on?” my mom said coming out of the kitchen.
“Nothing, I just need to talk to Grace in my room now” I said grabbing Grace by her arm.
She followed me into my room and closed the door. “What?”
“What you did to Avery was not cool,”
“Sorry,”
“Learn to shut your mouth,”
She rolled her eyes. “I said sorry,”
“out,” I said pointing to the door.
Once she left my room I started on my homework.

The next morning I woke up to the sound of my radio, telling my how wonderful it is in Atlanta.
I got dressed and packed my book bag and headed down stairs.
My mom had my breakfast ready for me at the table.
I went back up stairs to finished getting ready for school.
As I brushed my teeth I looked at my reflection.
Tall, muscular, brown hair, hazel eyes, dimple smile and perfect teeth. Four years of braces really pays off.
I got my stuff and got in my car, then headed to Avery’s house.
Once I was there I rang the doorbell.
A woman opened the door and smiled. “Yes?”
“I’m Jared a friend of Avery’s,”
“Oh,” she said smiling. “Come in. Avery, Jared is here for you,”
“Okay, coming,” she said.
After a few minutes I heard Avery’s footsteps coming out of her room.
I looked up at the stairs and was shocked.
Avery looked really…different…a good different.
Her hair was straight, she wore light make up, light pink button up top and a black short skirt.
“Hi,” she said shyly
“Hey, you look great,”
“Thanks,”
“It makes sense now,” her mom said giving Avery a look.
“Mom,”
“What, I didn’t say anything bad. I see why, very cute,”
“That’s it, let’s go,”
“Bye,” we said at the same time.
Avery and I walked to my car and got inside.
“So, who are you looking all hot for?” I asked.
She blushed. “No one,”
“Then why the sudden change?”
“Um, my sister talked me into it,”
“Okay,”
We reached the school and headed to our lockers.
We got what we needed we headed to class.
On our way there I saw Sadie kissing that guy she was with yesterday.
“There together now? Wow,” Avery said.
“Yeah,” I said walking into the classroom.

After school I picked up Grace and dropped her home. Then I went to Avery’s house.
I walked her to her front door. “I’ll see you tomorrow,” I smiled.
“Yeah, um, do you want to hang out this Friday,” she blushed as she said this.
“Yeah, sure, I’ll pick you up around seven,”
“Great,”
“It’s a date,” I winked making her blush. “Bye gorgeous,”
I hopped in my car and headed home.
Avery always knew how to make me smile, that’s what I liked about her.
*****
The morning routine was the same and so were the school days.
Sadie and Jesse were always together, it was gross.
Avery and I have gotten pretty close too. Someone started a rumor about us going out. Anyway, she dress nice everyday now.
It’s now the end of the day on Friday and I was getting ready to pick up Avery.
Once I got to her house I rang the doorbell.
Avery answered it. “Hey,”
“Ready?” I asked
“Yup,” she closed that door and walked next to me.
“You look nice,”
“Thanks you too,”
“Where are we going?”
“There a little restaurant near the plaza,”
“Let’s go,”
*****
Avery and I had a great time.
We ate our dinner then head to the movies.
We were now back at her house.
I walked her to the front porch.
“I had fun,” I smiled.
“Me too, we should do this again,”
“Yeah,”
We stared at each other. Avery started to blush.
I smirked and leaded in. Avery’s eyes got big, she just stood there waiting for something to happen.
I placed my lips on hers.
She kissed back instantly.
As I pulled her closer I felt her arms slip around my waist.
Our lips moved slowly and as one.
I pulled away. “Later my brown eyed girl,”
“Bye,” she whispered.
I hopped in my car and watched her walk inside.
“Wow,”
