Jail Time

Koby hugged Ciera when the judge gave the verdict.
"Jail time for these boys. Blake Charles will get 6 years. The other boys will receive 3 years," the judge said.
Ciera didn't agree, but at least they'd be behind bars for awhile.
As Ciera got up and walked out of the court room with Koby, Mike joined them.
"How's the arm?" Ciera asked.
"It's fine," Mike said, smiling at Ciera.
They all climbed into Mike's car and headed towards Koby's house.
"Not happy, are you, C?" Mike asked.
"I don't know," Ciera muttered.
"They're gone," Koby said. "You should be happy."
"6 years and they will all be back," Ciera said, "Every single one."
"They won't hurt you again," Koby said.
"You don't know that," Ciera said.
"I'll make sure of it," Koby said.
"C, we won't let them hurt you," Mike said.
"Whatever," Ciera said.
"Koby, where are your parents?" Mike asked, pulling into Koby's driveway.
"They took my little sister to a party. Got the house to myself for a few hours," Koby said, laughing.
"Well, I have to get home. Call me if you need a ride, C," Mike said.
Koby and Ciera climbed out of Mike's car and went inside.
"I'm tired. Can I take a nap in your room?" Ciera asked.
"Yeah, go ahead," Koby said, following Ciera up to his room.
She laid down and he sat beside her. He watched her till she fell asleep, then he fell asleep beside her.

***************

Koby woke up when he heard Ciera screaming. He reached over and shook her awake.
"C! C! Wake up!" Koby yelled, shaking her.
Ciera's eyes shot open. Tears began pouring from them.
"Koby," she muttered.
"What's wrong?" Koby asked, pulling Ciera into his lap.
"They.... they......" She choked in between sobs.
"C, it was just a dream. That's all it was," Koby said, rocking her back and forth.
"They.... I felt it happening again," Ciera muttered.
"C, it's going to be okay. They won't hurt you again," Koby said.
"Koby, make it go away," Ciera pleaded, still crying.
"Just look at me, baby. It's all okay, and I'll never let them touch you again, baby girl. It's not real. Those are just dreams," Koby said, rocking her still.
Slowly, Ciera's breathing slowed and the tears slowed. Koby kissed her forehead and kept holding onto her.
"Just go back to sleep, baby. They'll never hurt you again," Koby said.
Ciera slowly fell back asleep in Koby's arms.
