Hope Will Fall Tonight With Broken Wings

“Do you think he’s actually going to show up?” Charlottee asked Velaska as Velaska was doing her hair.
“I don’t know. Like I want him to but at the same time I’m just not getting my hopes up” Velaska said
“I know. But he’ll show up or your brother and myself will kick the shit out of him” Charlottee said with a smile
“Don’t I know it” Velaska smiled “Do you think I look alright?”
“I think you look sexy and you’re going to knock him dead” Charlottee said. Velaska was wearing a light green dress with accents of purple. It was strapless and fell to just above her knees. It showed off her curves beautifully. “What time is he supposed to be here?” Charlottee asked
“Seven” Velaska answered
“Oh so like any minute” Charlottee said
“Well if he wants to be early, yea” Velaska said.

Not even 3 minutes later there was a knock on the door. “Coming!” Charlottee said loudly as she ran odd the couch and to the door. “Hi Brian, come on in” Charlottee said
“Thank you. Is Laska ready?” Brian asked
“Yup. Laska, your date is here” Charlottee sang. Velaska got up off the couch as Charlottee and Brian walked into the living room. Brian brought her into a hug and Velaska hugged back. “You look beautiful” Brian said
“Oh thank you. You’re pretty good looking yourself” Velaska said
“Well let’s head out. Dinner is at 7” Brian said. Velaska just realized that he was 20 minutes early. Brian led the way out as Charlottee yelled “have fun kids” as they shut the door. The ride was short and it was silent. Velaska half expected Brian to be kidding about the date, so she was still kind of shocked; and Brian was going to make sure he didn’t mess it up.

They soon arrived at the restaurant. “This place is fairly new, so I figured we could check it out together” Brian said as they got out of the car and head inside.
“I hope we like it. I really enjoy Asian food” Velaska said with a light smile
“I hope we enjoy it too. It has all kinds of Asian food” Brian said as the restaurant’s door closed behind them. “Reservations under Haner” Brian said to the host at the front desk.
“Table for 2, right this way” the host said as they walked them to their table. They sat across from each other and looked over the menu before they talked to each other. “Thank you for giving me a chance” Brian said
“Well I really thought you wouldn’t actually go through with it. And if you did, I though you would’ve been late, not 20 minutes early” Velaska admitted.

“Yea, I expected you to think that. I’ve really missed you. You’re like my best friend and thinking you were dead killed me to think about. So I just told myself that you were busy and that’s why we hadn’t heard from you” Brian said
Did you try to call?” Velaska asked
“Yea, it always said the number was unavailable and we lost Charlottee’s number. It was as if the world didn’t want us to talk to you” Brian said
“Oh, well it would seem that way” Velaska said
“And when we were touring, we always tried to see if we could visit. We just never could” Brian said
“Well it’s in the past now. All that matters now is that we have each other back in our lives” Velaska said
“Thank God for that” Brian said with a smile. At the point the waitress came to get their order.

They talked and soon their food arrived. “So tell me about this MMA thing” Brian said
“Well it’s pretty aggressive stuff. It’s like boxing meets martial arts with a dash of wrestling. My Tae Kwon Do instructor introduced me to it. He saw the power I had and knew that MMA was perfect for me. It was, is, fun. I mostly went against guys because there weren’t enough girls in New England to go against” Velaska said as she ate
“How do you stack up?” Brian asked
“Ummm, now I don’t know and I can’t remember what it was before the accident”
“You going to sign up again?”
“Of course. I just need to get back into training”
“So. Did you ever have any boyfriends?” Brian asked and Velaska gave him a look.

“Ummm I did. He was a neighbor a couple of houses down. But he cheated on me and moved in with the girl” Velaska said
“I’m sorry, that sucks”
“It’s actually kind of funny. I ran into him a couple of weeks later. The smile on his face disappeared and the color left his face” Velaska said with a smile
“Where did you see him?”
“The beach. In a bikini” Velaska said with a bigger smile
“We should go to the beach sometime” Brian said
“Well I do have tomorrow off” Velaska said
“Then it’s a date” Brian said with a smile
“The others and Lottee invited?” Velaska asked then added “this food is delicious!”

“Yea, it’s a group thing. Like we use to do; I really missed you” Brian said
“I missed you too” Velaska said
“And I’m so glad that you’re back” Brian said
“Me too”
“If I tell you something, will you promise not to freak out? Never mind I’ll just tell you later” Brian said
“Okay” Velaska said
“I don’t really want to say it in public” Brian said
“Understandable. So tell me about your life”
“Well, I met Michelle on an intimate personal level about a year after you moved. I married her, a year and a half after Matt and Val tied the knot. The best thing was we got as famous as we imaged we would. The experience just felt off without you” Brian said

“Yea, I can only imagine” Velaska said
“You are so beautiful” Brian said in a whisper; but despite the sounds of the busy restaurant Velaska heard it.
“Oh ummm thank you. You’re pretty handsome” Velaska whispered. The sighed softly as she felt the start of hives. It seems that the medication can’t prevent them, it just makes the break out less sever. Velaska soon felt her emotions being pulled in different directions. She’s always had feelings for Brian, but she doesn’t know if he feels the same way. And if he does, what would Matt think and/or do. She’s just trying to enjoy this evening, but she can’t help but have her mind race. She jumped when Brian placed his warm hand on top of hers. “Laska, are you okay?” Brian asked concerned
“Minds just racing, that’s all” Velaska said with a small smile.

“Well I just paid the bill. So let’s go for a ride” Brian suggested as he and Velaska started getting up. Velaska had no idea that her mind was racing that long. Brian and her headed out and he drove around as they talked. “So, if I tell you something, promise not to freak out?” Brian asked as he drove.
“Well I can’t promise anything since I don’t know what it is” Velaska said
“Right, makes sense. Well I ummm I’ve always had feelings for you, that are far from sisterly. I have intimate feelings for you. I’d love to pursue them, if you’ll allow me to” Brian said as he stopped at the beach
“I’d, I’d like that a lot” Velaska said in a soft voice as her hives decorated her skin. Brian just smiled and gently brought Velaska into a kiss.
