You and I

After we got back home we finished packing and left my apartment at about 4:00, so we would get to my parents house at around 8:00. We had to take my car and their car so I could get back. It was dark when we got to my parent's house and you could hear the music coming from the backyard and my family and friends laughing. I missed this. We got our bags and walked up to the front door. I took the key from underneath the mat and unlocked the door. We placed our bags in my old room before heading out to the backyard. As I slid the glass door open everyone kept on with there conversations.
"Bueno, gracias por el saludo maravillosa(well thanks fo the wonderful greeting)" I shouted smiling brightly. At that moment everyone looked up and began shouting and cheering. My mother was quickly making her way through my enormous family. She grabbed me and gave me a hug I bent down so I could give her a kiss on the cheek. I am 5'10 while my mother is only 5'5. What can I say my dad is a tall guy. In fact all of my brothers and sisters were tall my oldest brother is 6'3 my other brother is 6'1 and both my sisters are 6 ft even.

"¡oh mi bebé está en casa!(oh my baby is home)" she said kissing both of my cheeks. Then my father came over and gave me a hug before releasing me and dragging my mother away so I could say hello to everyone. Now let me explained who 'everyone' is. Everyone includes 8 aunts, three on my mom's side five on my dad's side, and 6 uncles all on my mom's side. And those are my blood relatives not including all of their spouses. Then I have 26 cousins, mostly boys and I have one niece and one new baby nephew. Thats my immediate family. It took me a while to get through everyone but it eventually happened. I currently was sitting at a table around the wooden dance floor. I was sitting with my two older brothers, Juan and Antonio but everyone just calls him Tony. I was also sitting with my oldest brother Tony's wife, Christina, with his new son, Carlos, in her arms and their daughter,Isabella, on my lap and finally Leticia and Rosie.

"So Alls how is it out in LA?" asked my brother Tony.

"Its great I'm still trying to learn my way around and make friends" I said while braiding Isabella's hair.

"She's made more than just friends" said Rose mumbling.

"What did you say Rosie?" asked Juan.

I glared at Rose quickly before saying, "She didn't anything". We talked for a little while longer before I went looking for my mom. And of course I found her in the kitchen along with Leticia's mom, Dia. Leticia's mom make the best tamales every.

"hola Día, can I help you guys with anything?" I asked.

"Actually you can will you take out the plates and stuff and get your brothers for me so they can take out some of this food." my mom asked.

"Yeah" I grabbed some of the plates and was headed out when the door bell rang. My mom moved to get it but I told her I would. I had the plates in one hand as I opened the door.

"Hello" I said to the man on the other side of the door. He looked about my age and was about 6'3.

"Hello" he said holding out his hand for me to shake.

"Who are you?" I asked looking at his hand.

"Oh I'm Alejandro, Mrs.Rodriguez invited me" he said smiling at me.

"Well then come right in" I said moving so he could. As I shut the door I shouted "Mama Alejandro is here!" Then led him towards the kitchen.

"Alejandro, how are you? I am so glad you have already meet my daughter"she kissing him on both of his cheeks. This can't be happening not again. My mom is always trying to set me up with guys and there usually not bad looking, but there personality always sucks. I gave my mom a look clearly saying that we needed to talk.

" Alejandro would you be a dear and help Dia take these out back for me" my mom said. He simply nodded and grabbed the tray my mom was holding. When they were gone I put down the plates and said,"Mama you know I love you and I know your just trying to help but I can find my own dates."

"Well then why was the last time you brought home a boy in the 10th grade, me and your father got married at 18. " she expressed. Yeah I know pathetic but I had no time for boys when I was younger between gymnastics and focusing on my dream. Plus when I was younger I took so many dance classes, from ballet to jazz. It was to help improve my gymnastics.

"Ma you know why, I was way to focused on gymnastics and my song writing, and I can't even handle a relationship right now I just got signed, I need to get things going before I get serious in any type of relationship" I said looking her in the eye.

"I know but I am not asking you to marry him I just want you to go on one date with him that's all I ask, do it for your mama" she looking at me with sad eyes.

"Alright fine but can stop doing this please" I told her.

"Oh good now will you take those plates out, oh and get your brothers" she smiled lightly.

"Okay" I sighed before heading outside again. I walked over to the long tables we had setup for the food. I placed the plates down before making my way over to my brothers.

"Hey guys" I said.

"Hey who is that guy over there?" Tony said pointing at Alejandro.

"Oh that's Alejandro mom's 'friend' for me" I said putting quotes around friend.

"She did it again didn't she?" he asked.

"Yup but anyways mom wants you guys to go help her she's in the kitchen" I told them.

"Alright we're on it." they said excusing themselves. Once they had left I turned to Leticia and Rose and groaned.

"At least he's cute" said Rose smiling.

"Are you actually going on a date with him?" asked Leticia.

"I told my mom I would" I sighed.

"Really what happened to putting everything on hold" she questioned.

"That's still true but its only one date and like I said, I told my mom I would" I explained.

"What about Kellan?" she questioned further.

"Lets not do this now I don't want to fight with you" I said grabbing her and giving her a huge hug.

"Fine, but this conversation isn't over" she said giving in.

"Great now that, that is over lets go eat" said Rose pulling us both up by out wrists. We laughed as she pulled us over to the table. Once we had our food we went back to our table and ate. While we were eating people were on the dance floor dancing the salsa and having fun. After a couple of minutes my mother came over to our table and yelled," I think it's time for Juan and Alanza to show us how it's done". Juan and I both took latin ballroom dancing when we were younger but only for a couple years.

"No mama" I begged knowing that I was probably a lot more than rusty.

"Aww is my baby sister chicken" Juan teased holding out his hand.

"Really Juanita we both know that's not true" I said taking his hand. We made our way onto the dance floor and began to dance. About half way through our dance people started to join in. Everyone was dancing except for a couple of people including Rose.

"Hey why don't you go ask Rosie to dance" I asked him pushing him towards her gently.

"Who are you gunna dance with?" he questioned.

" I'm good I wanna rest anyways" I said smiling. He smiled back before walking over to her I watched as she took his hand blushing. I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned around to see Alejandro.

"Want to dance?" he asked.

"Sure" I said.

He then gently proceed to place his hand in mine and then the other on my waist . We danced for a long time chatting randomly before I pulled away and said goodbye. About an hour later everyone had left and I was helping my mom clean up I was cleaning the tables when I heard footsteps behind me but I continued to clean.

"Do you need some help?" asked Alejandro. I nodded my head and continued to clean.

" So Alanza I was wondering if you wanted to go out to dinner with me tomorrow night?" he asked rubbing the back of his neck. One date it's just one date.

"Yeah that would be nice" I said smiling at him.

"Great! I have to go but I'll see you tomorrow" he said throwing the last of the trash away.

"See ya" I said.

After I  was done I went inside and took a shower. I put on my pajamas and headed back to my old room  and went to sleep.
