Why was my alarm going off? I thought to my self, it’s the weekend, FINALLY! I checked my alarm, but that wasn’t the source of the noise. I check my phone and there was one message

Hey Cam!
You need to get out more so I’m taking you to the beach to meet some of my friends, be ready by 11

I check the time and it was 10, so I jumped in the shower, when I finished I went into my closet to look for a bathing suit. I found one that wasn’t so bad, see the thing is I find it awkward shopping for underwear, bras and bathing suits with my dad, so that’s what my aunt gets me for my birthdays and Christmas. But the stuff she picked out was a little to skimpy for my taste, but I didn’t want to by these things myself so I just dealt with it. I also put in my belly ring, that no one, not even my dad knows I have. When I finished getting ready it was 5 minutes to 11 so I ran over to Carter’s house.

“CARTER! I’m ready!” I yelled

“On time, I’m impressed.” He smiled, and I shoved him playfully.

“So are we really going to meet up with your friends or is this some perverted excuse to take me to the beach and see me half naked?” I asked, he started to blush and that made me laugh

“Damn it! You caught me.” I laughed and again but this time he laughed with me “Come on lets go!” We walked to the beach, because it was only like a mile away. When we got there we walked up to a rather large group, I felt awkward and out of place

“Hi guys! This is my friend Cam” Carter introduced me

“The girl with balls?” One guy asked, I laughed as he rephrased his question “I mean the one that stood up to Heather?” Right when he said her name a girl with blonde, pink and black hair looked up.

“You stood up to Heather?” She asked

“Yup, sure did” I told her and she smiled

“Were going to get along great, I’m Erin”

“Camille, but call me Cam”

“Come on ladies, strip!” Carter yelled and me and Erin both hit him on the arm at the same time, I got lost of my shorts and shirt, while ignoring the gazes of some guys and took of running towards the water

“Last one there has to by drinks for everyone!” I yelled over my shoulder, I was a super fast runner I knew no one was going to beat me, but when I hurt someone close on my tail I turned around and there was Erin we both hit the water at the same time. “Damn girl your fast” I told her and she smiled

“Thank you, I try” Carter was in not to long after us and so was a guy named Brandon, and Danny, the last one in the water was Danny’s girlfriend Zoë, she pouted when she realized she lost.

“Come on babe, I’ll help you get the drinks” Danny said and Zoë smiled. They returned later with virgin strawberry daiquiris and we stayed at the beach until sunset.

“Sleep over at my house?” Carter asked and Erin groaned

“Isn’t your dick-head brother there with his friends?” Erin asked

“Yea?” Carter asked confused

“No thanks I’m not coming.” Erin told him and soon the others agreed

“Then were?” Carter asked

“We could do it at my house; I have a movie room and the house to myself tonight, my dads out of town.” I smiled

“Cam, has anyone told you they love you?” Erin asked

“No?”

“Well I love you, no homo” She smiled

“There’s always a little homo in no homo” I told her, she pouted while the others laughed. “OFF TO MY HOUSE!” I yelled and everyone followed me back to my house. When we got there I led them into the movie room, they looked in awe.

“Holy fuck” Brandon mumbled

“Okay boys pick out the movies, no scary movies though; I want to be able to sleep tonight. Any request for snacks?” I asked they shook there heads no, I led the girls in to the kitchen and handed them each a pillow case, they looked at me like I was crazy.

“I have a game, you have 3 minutes to get any type of food/drinks you want, but only 3 minutes and you have to share with one of the boys.” They laughed at me but agreed to it, I set the timer and then hit the green start button the girls were running around throwing random things into there sheets and I got everything I needed. The timer ran out just as I finished. We popped all the popcorn we got and brought over pillow cases in, the boys decided to watch the hangover.

“Carter your sharing the pillow case with me” I told him

“Huh?”

“We played a find food game” Erin explained sat next to Brandon and Zoë sat next to Danny. I looked in my sack, there was: Snickers, skittles, root bear, sprite, coke, dr. pepper, 2 bags of popcorn, some ice cream, chips and a bag of sour patch kids.

“Jackpot!” Carter yelled I laughed at the contents of the other girls bags, Erin had some popcorn, soda, poptarts, ice cream and some soup, Zoë and pretty much the same thing.

“Soup?” I asked they both turned bright red and muttered something I could not hear. We ended up watching 3 other movies and everyone was asleep but me and Carter.

“Thanks” I told him

“For what?” He asked

“Today was a lot of fun, I hope we can all hang out again soon.” He smiled

“We are, tomorrow I’m having a barbeque at my place” I smiled “You know they really like you?”

“Really?” I asked

“Yep, and they all go to our school, so that means you just earned yourself some more friends.” I gave Carter a hug

“I know I say this like everyday, but Carter you’re probably the best thing that has come into my life since, well since baseball!” I told him smiling

“Wow, I’m at the top of your list, next to baseball” We both laughed

“Yep, night Carter” I told him curling up into my recliner

“Night Cam” For the first nights in many I was completely happy when I fell asleep
