“Here let me” Jeremy smiled as he walked over to me and lit my candle from his as we were all in the town square for the night of the comet; the comet only passes over Mystic Falls every 145 years and the comet was going to pass over tonight so we were having a festival to celebrate the event.
“Thank you Jeremy, so I’ve somehow lost Everleigh” I said to him with a smile and I was telling him somewhat the truth; I didn’t lose Everleigh but she did just walk away from me and I didn’t know why but I had a pretty good idea why, because she wanted me to spend some alone time with Jeremy.
“And you don’t want to be a loner tonight, of course I’ll stay with you Paige” Jeremy said to me with a soft chuckle making me smile even more at him; I had finally admitted to Everleigh and my Grandma that I did like Jeremy but I didn’t want to lose him when he found out what I was, it’s not every day that someone tells you they’re a witch.
“Oh how thoughtful of you, I’d like that a lot” I smiled at him as we walked around the town square for a bit before we found a good place to sit and watch for the comet; we walked around and talked about everything while lighting other people’s candles which was really nice, because it’s like the whole town coming together.
“Well those two seem to be getting along a bit better, which is good because them fighting is starting to boring” Jeremy said to me when we saw Damon and Everleigh actually talking calmly with each other; Jeremy just didn’t know that they could hear him but I wasn’t sure what they were talking about, the only thing they talk about calmly is to do with Anna and the tomb full of vampires.
“Try living with Leigh and have Damon come over, but it’s so clear that they both really like each other. I wish they just realise that and start dating, they’d be the cutest couple ever” I said with a smile knowing full well that they could both hear me and I knew Everleigh would kill me for saying that; but it’s her fault for making me admit the feelings I had for Jeremy because I didn’t want anyone to know.
“Well hopefully tonight will bring some people together, after all it is kind of a romantic setting” Jeremy said to me as his dark brown eyes locked onto mine and I could feel the blush form on my cheeks which caused me to look away from him; I was about to reply to him when I saw Anna walking over to us which was strange because Jeremy had been avoiding her since she threatened me.
“Jeremy can we talk please? You don’t even know my side of the story, you can’t just pick her side” Anna said to him as she looked straight into his eyes and I could tell she was trying to compel him but Elena had been putting vervain into his drinks for a while now; so no vampire could compel him which Anna didn’t know but I did so I thought it was pretty damn hilarious.
“We don’t have anything to talk about Anna, it wasn’t even Paige who told me what happened. I don’t understand how you can threatened someone as nice as Paige” Jeremy said to her which I could tell shocked her a bit because she couldn’t compel him and that I hadn’t been the one to tell him what happened; which I knew she thought I would but I’m not that petty and just wanted everyone to forget about it.
I could see Everleigh and Damon watching us just in case we needed their help but I was pretty sure that Anna now got the message that Jeremy didn’t want her around right now; I didn’t say anything to her as Jeremy wrapped his arm around my waist and started leading me away from her, I just didn’t want to piss her off anymore because that wouldn’t be good news for us.
I let Jeremy lead me away and I couldn’t help but actually like how his arm felt around my waist; I didn’t really know what I could say to him about Anna so I decided to just keep my mouth shut because I also wanted tonight to be enjoyable for the both of us.
“I’m sorry about her Jeremy, if you want to keep being her friend then you can. I don’t mind if you decide to, I’ve forgotten about what happened” I said to him softly as he found us a good place to sit on the lawn; we sat down together and I looked at him to try to read his face but I couldn’t even though he was looking at me.
“I can tell that you haven’t forgotten about what happened and neither have I, I care more about you then I do about her. I’ve known you longer Paige and you’re the one I want” Jeremy said to me softly as our eyes locked together and he placed his hand on my cheek gently letting his thumb stroke my skin lightly.
I watched him closely as he leaned in closer to me and pressed his lips onto mine for an amazing kiss which I immediately returned; of course I wanted to kiss him but I honestly didn’t think he liked me this much but I was glad that he did, I knew I shouldn’t be with him because I could get him hurt but I just couldn’t ignore my feelings for him any longer.
I tried to ignore the eyes burning into us as we kissed and I knew Everleigh would be watching us to make sure everything is alright; Damon could be watching if he’s still with Everleigh but I just had a feeling that Anna could be watching as well if she was close by, which wasn’t a good thing at all because I could tell that she liked Jeremy as well.
“Be my girlfriend Paige?” Jeremy asked me once he had pulled back from our kiss and smiled widely at me which I couldn’t help but return; he didn’t even need to ask me that question but it was sweet that he did and that’s what I really liked about him.
“Of course I will Jeremy, now we should probably look out for that comet before we miss it” I said to him with a smile of my face as I shifted around and moved closer to him; I heard him chuckle softly as he wrapped his arms around my waist as I got into a comfortable position between his legs as I leaned back against his chest.
“Everleigh is going to kill me because I didn’t ask her first, aren’t I?” Jeremy asked me softly but I knew he was smiling as he held me in his arms and kissed the top of my head; I smiled as I placed my hands on his arms and rubbed them softly.
“Yes she will but I’ll make sure to look after you, so she won’t hurt you all too much” I told him with a smile on my lips as I looked up at him a bit causing him to place a soft kiss on my forehead; I smiled more when he entwined his fingers with mine as we both looked up at the night sky and saw the bring comet fly past us.
