Retarded In Love

Chapter 31

I woke up the next morning to a pounding headache. The sunlight that had just started to pour through the slits in the blinds seemed to be screaming at me. I sat up slowly and saw Dico and I's clothed scattered in a line to the bed. I sighed and got up, wrapped myself in the sheet that had come off the bed, and made my way to the bathroom. It was my usual routine. Quick shower, fresh clothes, hair and make up. Only this time, I didn't blow dry my hair. I didn't want to wake Bran up. Not just yet. I made my way to the phone and dialed Dunn's room number.

"M-hello." Dunn chuckled.

"Hey... Shut up."

"How are you feeling?"

I simply grumbled.

"That bad, huh?"

"Do you know what time Bran's plane leaves?"

"No."

"Alright, bye."

"Wait, El-"

I hung up the phone. I didn't want to talk. I was hungover, and mad. Mad at myself, mostly, for doing what I did. Mad at myself for getting that drunk. Mad at myself for letting David get to me. He just wasn't the one, and neither was Bran. That was a given.

I looked over at him. He was laying naked, sprawled out across the bed, the blanket draped across his midsection. I walked over to him and tapped his shoulder lightly. He didn't move.

"Dico," I whispered, "you need to get up." I shook his shoulder lightly, and his eyes slowly opened. He look confused at first but then smiled at me.

"Good morning." He said quietly, smile not fading.

I couldn't help but smile back. "Good morning, Bran."

Now that he was awake, I decided to blow dry my hair. In the mirror I saw Dico get up and walk into the bathroom, scratching his head. I couldn't help but laugh.

About an hour later, Jeff told us to load up into the vans. We were going back to the river to shoot for the rest of the day. I was supposed to ride in a van with Johnny, Chris, Ehren, Wee Man, and Dunn. There was a taxi behind the vans to take Dico to the airport. I waited for the first van to leave before I walked to where Dico was standing in front of the cab.

He smiled at me. "So, uh..."

"Yeah." I smiled back.

"I'll call you when I get to West Chester."

"Ok."

He leaned in and kissed me quickly before climbing into the cab. I made my way back to the van and climbed in, ignoring the giggles I was getting.

"The first drunken hookup on Jackass!" Johnny exclaimed.

"You shut your mouth, Bam can't know." I threatened him.

"Why not?" Ehren asked.

"Believe me, Bam can't know." Dunn laughed quietly.
