The Diva Inside

Trouble with Guys

Chapter 4
My boring day, did have one exciting part to it. Seeing Ben. Ben and I had the same accidental run-in, except two things were different. One, I didn’t spill tea on him. And two, it wasn’t accidental.

“Oh, hey. What’s up?” He asks me. I can feel my cheeks turning red.

“I’m sorry I spilt tea on your yesterday.” I blurt out. And my cheeks are even redder now.

“Oh, that’s ok. We all spill. Besides, your tea smelt good. I kept getting compliments on how good I smelt yesterday.” He chuckles, which means I can’t help smile. His laugh just makes me melt. And his adorable grin. And his crystal, blue eyes. Calm yourself. I bring myself back to Earth.

“That’s funny. You’re funny. Hey, I was wonder-“ I’m interrupted by my phone vibrating. I pull out my phone. It’s Natalie, she's wondering where I am. I’m late for lunch. I ignore it and shove my phone back in my pocket. When, I look back up. Ben has the most horrific look on his face.

“What’s wrong?” I ask, confused.

“You-you never…never told me you were…were a STEELERS FAN!!!!!!!” He shouts. I jump a little.

I'm quiet, confused. How does he know that? Then I remembered my Pittsburgh Steelers phone case that Taylor got me for my birthday last year.

“Oh, I’m sorry. Is that a problem?”

“Kinda. I’m a Ravens fan.” Gross.

"Well, you know. I gotta get going. See ya. It was fun talking to you. Bye." I shyly wave goodbye, trying to be cute and flirty. How could he be a Ravens fan? That's gonna be an issue.

He grins and walks away.

I walk to lunch and find my friends sitting at the same table as yesterday. I sit and talk. They ask me why I'm late, I lie and tell them that I had to ask my teacher a question. We talk about school, people we might like, people we probably won't like and people we already know we hate. About halfway through lunch, I notice that my boo, Taylor, isn't here.

"Hey, where's Taylor? Does anyone know?" I ask, looking around the cafeteria.

They all shake their heads 'no'. We continue on through lunch, but I'm still thinking about Taylor.

When the bell rings, I grab my bag and start towards math class. I feel my phone vibrate in my bag and pull it out. It's from Taylor. All it says is I need to talk. I text back, worried. I finish my walk to math, when my phone vibrates again. It says Never mind. I'm fine. I'm worried. I go through math and gym, still worried about Taylor. When I finally arrive at Horticulture and Taylor's not there I'm so worried, I didn't know it was even possible to be this worried. I sit through a horrific 45 minutes in Horticulture with Taylor and that's all I can think about. Maybe he was killed or hurt or stolen or…or….or…" I become short of breath. I have to know where he is. I run out of class, searching for my phone in my bag. When I find it, I see Taylor has replied to my last three texts finally. I open the message and all it says is He cheated.
