A Wonderful Surprise

Another weekend came and it was time for another movie night. This time was Kayla's turn to choose the movies so it'd definitely be some animations like Toy Story and Cars they'd watch.

Mary planned to make some cookies for her best friends so John, Kayla and Garrett came earlier to help her. But what happened there was, the boys got busy playing some Wii games while the girls were busy with cookie dough in the kitchen. That was fine for Mary, though, since she could use that time to tell Kayla about what happened lately with her and Nick.

`So I told him we're still friends but that didn't mean I've forgave him already.` Told Mary as she handed Kayla a mixer. `And what I meant by friends was on the net, not in the real life.` She clarified.

`But I don't think he'd take that like you actually meant.` Said Kayla as she mixed some eggs and butter. `He might think that he can get close to you again and make it like the old days.`

`I know, I could see that from his latest reply. But whatever, I'm not going to meet him in the near future.` Mary shrugged her shoulders and went to take the dishes.

`Whom are you not going to meet, Cousin?` John suddenly appeared as he took a little piece of cookie dough. `Tasted good!`

`John!` Kayla exclaimed as she hit John's arm. `You overheard our talks?` Asked Kayla annoyed as John just showed her a grin.

`I didn't, I just came when Mary said she's not going to meet someone for some times—` Said John as he wanted to take more dough but Kayla slapped his hand even before John touched the bowl. `What are you guys talking about?`

`Nothing much,` Kayla answered as she glanced to Mary who was busy with the dishes and trying to not listening to John. `Go back to your Wii game, Johnny. I bet you lost the last game, didn't you?`

John pouted to his girlfriend. `Yes. But I supposed to be here to help you girls with the cookies.` John looked at Mary and asked her, `so what can I help you?`

`Just go back to your game with Garrett, Cousin.` Mary repeated Kayla. She was pissed to know John just overheard her talk with Kayla. `I'll call you once we need your help.` She showed a little smile.

`Okay, fine.` John finally said. `But Garrett asked me to ask you girls if the cookies are done, he's hungry.`

`Tell him we're not done yet.` Mary said as she showed the shaped doughs. John went back to the living room as she rolled her eyes as Kayla giggled to see her.

`You didn't tell John or Garrett about Nick?` Asked Kayla as Mary shook her head. `Why not?`

`I didn't think it's a big matter I should tell them. But Garrett somehow knows about Nick,` Mary then started to tell her best friend about what happened when Mary and Garrett were on their way home after buying the boy's Nerf gun.

Kayla smiled to know how Garrett tried to protect their best friend. `That's really cute of him,` she commented.

`Why thank you,` someone's voice suddenly heard, it turned out to be Garrett's voice. He smirked to the girls and asked if the cookies were done already or not.

`I've told John to tell you that the cookies are not done yet.` Annoyed Mary said. `And I've told him to not overheard us too.`

`Sorry. I just came to say I'm hungry and then I heard you guys talking about that guy.` Garrett gave an emphasis when saying 'that guy'. He sounded like he didn't really like it when Mary talked about Nick.

`We're fine, Gary,` Mary rolled her eyes and smiled. `You don't have to worry.`

`I have to, even if he had made you sad.` The Nickelsen boy showed a really serious face and that made Mary blushed a bit.

`Aww, you guys are so cute!` Kayla suddenly shouted as she brought a brass with cookies. `Cookies are done!` She shouted again and called her boyfriend to come to the kitchen.

`Yaay!` John exclaimed as he ran to the cookies and took one. `Yum!`

Garrett took one cookie for himself and another one for Mary. He handed Mary the cookie while saying, `I swear I'll protect you from bad boys, including Nick Santino if he's really one of them.`

`Thank you, but you don't have to.` Mary took her cookie. `Thank you again for the cookie, tasted good right?` Mary grinned followed by Garrett as he nodded.

`Anyway, do you guys remember the Nick Santino guy we met here for the first time?` John asked as the others nodded. Unlike Garrett, John seemed like he liked Nick. He smiled widely and said, `He's a cool guy. And have I told you guys that Halvo told me that he would bring Nick for our movie time tonight?`
