Interview with Ellen: Part II

I stood with Ellen as the guys walked on the stage as the crowd went just as crazy (if not more) as when I came out. I hugged each brother, hugging Nick last and quickly as though he were a fan before sitting down after Ellen hugged them.

I plastered a fake smile as I sat next to Nick again, but was still closest to Ellen. Once we were seated and after the crowd stopped cheering and squealing, she spoke.

E: You guys came back so soon!
K: Yep!
J: We couldn’t let Sammy come here by herself.
C: *awws*
E: So you guys have known each other for almost two years now! Wow, that’s a long time! How did you guys meet?

The guys and I stared at one another before verbally decided.

K: Did you wanna explain this one, Nick?
N: Sure. Basically, Sam had just got finished filming the movie and our dad was one of the people whom was there when she got her singing contract so she was offered to receive private singing lessons from him so she spent time with us over Christmas and we all became friends then and have been friends ever since.
C: *awws before clapping*
E: That’s so sweet! What was that like- to know each other back then?
S: For me, the guys were the same as they are now except now they’re a little more mature with their music and personally as well. It was a great experience that I’m thankful to have happened.
C: *claps*
K: It’s a funny story, actually, though. Sam and I knew each other even before December.
S: *smiles before nodding* It’s true.
E: *more shocked* When did you two meet?
S: About a few days or less after my audition for the movie.
E: Wow! Did you expect to meet again?
K: Never, but it was a surprise to run into each other again.
E: That’s amazing. So, I have to ask this question again even though Sam gave me her answers. Nick, are you dating anyone?
N: No.
E: Joe, are you dating anyone?
J: No. Not right now.
C: *squeals*
E: OK. Just had to make sure. So, you’re all single? Wow! Have there ever been any thoughts of taking your friendship to the next level? Joe? Sam?
J&S: *stares at one another before laughing a little*
J: Me and Sam? That’d be weird.
S: Entirely.
E: Well, it was great having you guys here.
N: Thank you.
S&K: It was great being here.
J: We had fun-again.
E: Alright, well, everyone’s getting a copy of Samantha’s mini-album. Sam, when will your album be released?
S: The official date is March 2008.
E: OK. March of next year. You can pre-order it now, right?
S: Yes.
E: Alright. Well, when we come back from our commercial break, Sam will perform and then she’ll perform with the guys so we’ll be right back.

E: Here’s Samantha Parker’s more recent single, Fly.

I put on a netted glove like I did in my concerts wearing the same clothes I did before. The music started as the crowd cheered. I opened my mouth and sung.

In a moment everything can change,
Feel the wind on your shoulder.
For a minute all the world can wait,
Let go of your yesterday.

Can you hear it calling?
Can you feel it in your soul?
Can you trust this calling
And take control?!

Fly!
Open up the part of you that wants to hide away,
And you can shine!
Forget about the reasons why you can’t tonight,
And start to try,
Cause it’s your time, time to fly!

I shook my head once to the left before singing again.

All your worries,
Leave them somewhere else
Find a dream you can follow
Reach for something
When there’s nothing left
And your world’s feelin’ hollow

Can you hear it calling?
Can you feel it in your soul?
Can you trust this calling
And take control?!

Unfortunately, I had to stand in one place as I sung my heart out.

Fly!
Open up the part of you that wants to hide away
And you can shine!
Forget about the reasons why you can’t tonight
And start to try
Cause it’s your tiiiime, time to fly!

And when you’re down you feel
You just wanna run away
Trust yourself and don’t give up
You know you’re better than anyone elllse

I put both hands on the mic as though it were fragile china as I sung in a low tone.

In a moment, everything can change,
Feel the wind on your shoulder.
For a minute,
All the world can waiiit.
Like the cloud thought of yesterday!

Raising my voice again, I sung my heart out to the crowd a final time for the song.

Fly!
Open up the part of you that wants to hide away!
And you can shine!
Forget about the reasons why you can’t tonight
And start to try

Start to fly!
Forget about the reasons why you can’t tonight
And start to try
It’s your tiiiiime, time to fly!

The music slowed down as my tone decreased in volume.

In a moment, everything can change

The crowd cheered loudly as I spoke into the mic, On the Line’s music starting up.

“Please welcome the Jonas Brothers as we sing On the Line,” I said with a light pant. I turned to another stage where the guys were as I caught my breath just before I had to sing.

I didn’t wanna say I’m sorry for breakin’ us apart,
I didn’t wanna say it was my fault even though I knew it was.
I didn’t wanna call you back cause I knew that I was wrong.
Yeah, I knew I was wrong

The music increased in intensity as the chorus started with me starting it.

One and the same,
Never to change,
Our love was beautiful

We got it all,
Destined to fall.
Our love was tragical!

Wanted to call
No need to fight
You know I wouldn’t lie
But tonight, we’ll leave it on the line

I walked over to Nick singing to him.
Listen, baby!

Nick sung next causing the girls to go wild.

Never would’ve said forever
If I knew it’d end so fast!

Why did you say I love you
If you knew that it wouldn’t last?

He didn’t turn towards me like he usually did causing me to brush it off, but I kept my composure.

Baby, I just can’t hear what you’re saying,
The line is breakin’ up

Or is that just us?
Or is that just us?!

The chorus started again causing me to walk back over to Joe singing with him.

One and the same,
Never to change,
Our love was beautiful!
We got it all,
Destined to fall,
Our loves was tragical

Wanted to call
No need to fight
You know I wouldn’t lie!
But tonight, we’ll leave it on the line!

The music decreased in intensity as Joe and I faced the crowd turning to one another at intervals as we sung the last verse.

I tried to call again
And get your mailbox
Like a letter left unread,

Apologies are often open-ended

The music increased in intensity again as we sung.

But this was better left unsaid!
One and the same,
Never to change,
Our love was beautiful!
We got it all,
Destined to fall
Our love was tragical!

Wanted to call
No need to fight!
You know I wouldn’t lie!
But tonight, we’ll leave it on the line

I turned to Nick singing to him instead of standing next to him like I usually would.

We leave it on the li-hine!

He didn’t smile to me, but sung his line.

Yeah, oh yeah!
We’ll leave it on the line toniiight! I sung, the song coming to an end.

The crowd cheered as Ellen walked over to us, clapping with the crowd as she wrapped an arm behind my back.

“Wow. That was nice!” she exclaimed.

“So, check out Samantha’s self-titled album coming out in stores March 2008 and we’ll see them as well as the Jonas Brothers on tour! We’ll see you guys next time!” she said to the camera before the camera-guy said cut after the music ended.

I do not own the songs that were used in this chapter.

Those songs are Fly by Hilary Duff and On the Line by Demi Lovato featuring the Jonas Brothers.
