Got My Heart in Your Hands

A week has passed and tour has been going pretty great for everyone. Except for me. Non-stop calls from my alcoholic mother and my drug-addicted step-father have really gotten to me. Danny recently caught me crying behind the All Time Low bus and pretty much found out about everything going on. With him was Zack and he too found out.
Nowadays whenever i see Zack, he asks me how i am and to ignore all the bullshit my parents say to me. Easier said than done. It seems like everyday insults get worse and worse. I've also started to feel somewhat comfortable around Zack. He's not a jerk what so ever. I even found the courage to apologize to him for calling him a jerk and for being rude at the mall that one time. He told me it was fine and then gave me one of the most amazing hugs i've ever gotten in my life. I actually felt safe while in his arms. It was strange.
Recently though, i've been worried about him. He's been acting strange. I figured it might be because of that Brittany girl in the All Time Low crew that always hangs out with Jordan. Maybe he liked her but whatever the case, i hope he's ok. We were currently parked by a nearby diner that seemed pretty sketchy to me. I just sat up front messing with whatever app i had in my phone.
"Hey Sev."
I turned toward the bunks and saw Cameron and Jordan walk out.
"Where are you guys going?" I asked.
"To the diner to meet up with Brittany." Jordan smiled.
"Jordan here has the hots for lil Brittany." Cameron teased.
I noticed Jordan's face turn a slight red. I couldn't help but giggle. "Cam leave Jordan alone. He has the right to like someone."
Jordan smiled again and hugged me. "Thanks Sevie. Hey why don't you come along with us?"
I shook my head. "Nah i'm not hungry. You guys go and enjoy yourselves." With that said, they hugged me goodbye and left. Shortly after they left, there was a knock on the door. I walked over to answer and came face to face with Zack.
"Hey."
"Heh-hey..."
"Mind if i come in?" he asked.
"Oh uh no i don't mind. Come in." I stepped out of the way and allowed him to enter. I offered him a seat and he gladly took it. I sat across from him.
"So how are you?"
I nodded. "I'm good, you?"
"I could be better."
"Oh um do you wanna talk about it?"
He smiled. "I like this."
"Like what?"
"The fact that you're not scared of me."
I blushed and looked away from him. "I was never scared of you."
He chuckled and sat next to me. He took a hold of my hand and held it tightly in his. "I'll see you later ok?"
I nodded hesitantly. "Oh-okay..."
Suddenly Zack leaned forward and placed a kiss on my cheek. He then stood up and walked out. I sat there in pure silence taking in what had just happened. I soon heard footsteps walking into the front lounge of the van. I looked over and saw Tay.
"Sup Sev."
"Hey Tay."
"You ok?"
I nodded. "Yea, why?"
She sat down next to me. "You seem a bit out of it."
"Heh sorry."
Out of nowhere we heard a loud commotion coming from outside. Tay and i looked at each other before making our way to the window to see what was going on. Jordan was holding Brittany in his arms as he followed what looked like an angry Zack to the All Time Low bus.
"I wonder what happened."
I nodded. "Yea, me too."
The next day seemed a bit too uneasy for me. I had a strange feeling inside me like something was gonna happen. We were all hanging out outside the van just chatting when suddenly we saw Brittany dash out of the All Time Low bus.
"Whoa again?" Mike asked.
Rob nodded. "I know right, wonder what happened."
"You guys stay here, i'll go get her."
Cameron hopped in the van and drove off to find Brittany. I made my way over to the All Time Low bus and knocked on the door. Inside i heard people arguing but right when the door opened everything died down.
"Sevie."
"Hi Rian, um is Zack here?"
I heard footsteps and now standing behind Rian was Zack. I smiled at him while Rian made his way back inside the bus.
"Hey what are you doing here?"
"Oh um sorry. I can leave if..."
He shook his head. "No no its ok. Having you here calms me down a bit."
I couldn't help but blush. "Heh don't say that. As if i could do that."
He stepped off the bus and closed the door behind him. "Sev does this have to do with what your parents have said to you? You shouldn't listen to them."
I sighed. "I know but its just..."
He placed his hand on my cheek. "It's just what?"
I looked up at him and shook my head. "I don't know..." Soon I headed off the bus with Zack. He was strangely quiet. Every time Brittany would go missing or something happened to her, he would seem to shut down. Maybe he really did like her. Even though she seems pretty into Jordan. And same for Jordan. His phone rang. As he answered the call, the color in his face drained. The look on Zack's face broke my heart. He ran back to the bus and I quickly followed.
“We have to go. Now!”
