You Play My Heart Like Your Guitar

“May I come back please?” Mina choked out and Kelly looked up surprised,
“Really?” Kelly asked in shock,
“Please…I would like to help around here” Mina whispered and Kelly hugged her, Mina sobbed and then stopped when Harley walked by, she waved at him and he gave her a timid smile.
“I better get going…I’ll come back soon though” Mina smiled tearfully and before she breaks down crying she hurried out of the door and ran straight into someone. She looked up as tears spilled out of her eyes and was shocked to see the hazel ones looking back down at her…Zack.

Mina gapped and quickly wiped the tears from her eyes,
“Emilia?” Zack said with a shock look at her teary face.
“Ugh...s-sorry f-for running into um you...” She stuttered and saw the frown that took over Zack’s face, she flushed when he extended a hand for her to grab so she could get up. She accepted and when her hand was momentarily in his, she couldn’t help but be awed by its callousness.
“Thanks...”

“Are you okay love?” A feminine voice said and Mina looked at the beautiful green eyes woman, who was holding onto one of Zack’s arms,
“Oh!” Mina said in surprise and quickly snatched her hand out of Zack’s...surely this girl is his girlfriend; Mina cleared her throat and prayed that she wasn’t blushing.
“I’m okay thank you...”
“Are you sure? You look distraught” The pretty green eyed girl replied her face looking worried, Mina forced a smile.
“Peachy...but if you’ll excuse me I should get going...” Emilia mumbled and quickly grabbed her purse that was still on the floor and almost ran.

“Emilia! Hold on a sec!” Zack’s voice broke the silence and she turned to see him holding her scarf, she mumbled a thank you and was about ready to leave when his hand tugged her arm. She flinched and looked at him with wide blue eyes, Zack cleared his throat.
“Would you like me to call Rian?” Zack asked and she gasped,
“Oh no! Please don’t!” Mina exclaimed not wanting to let Rian know about her plans to find her mother.
“Are you sure, I mean you look upset and you know he should know, I mean he cares a lot-”
“Zack please stop Rian doesn’t need to worry about me” She said and he frowned,
“But-”
“Zack just please stay out of this!” Mina said exasperated at him nosing his way into her business...but it never occurred to her that he might care.
“You know what fine! Last time I try to help you!” He said, his voice cold...jerk face was back, and for some reason that really hurt her, she felt tears well up in her eyes and his cold facade broke when he saw it but before he could say anything she bolted away.

At Rian and Cassadee’s house

“Hey Zack, how’s it going man?” Rian grinned when he saw one of his best friends at the door.
“Yea I’m good” Zack grinned and entered the house, hearing Cassadee’s laughter and Jack and Alex yelling at each other. Zack smiled and entered the lounge room,
“Zack!” Jack squealed and Zack rolled his eyes.
“Hey man” Alex greeted as Zack plopped down on the sofa,
“Do you know if Mina is coming?” Rian asked Cass and she shook her head, Zack thanked the heavens...this ‘Mina’ was beautiful to be sure but there was something about her that...he didn’t know how to explain she just frustrated him but Zack couldn’t help but feel guilty at how he treated her earlier.

“I wonder where she is...” Cass mumbled to Rian and he nodded,
“If it helps I know for a fact that she’s alive” Zack said and Rian and Cass looked at him questioningly.
“How’d you know that?” Alex asked slightly amused.
“She ran into me quite literally earlier” He shrugged.
“Oh...? Is she okay, did she look okay?” Cass tilted her head and Zack winced.
“Oh gosh, did you guys get in another argument?” Cass asked, her eyes were narrowed.
“Well...no, not exactly...” He shifted uncomfortably,
“What happened?” Rian asked in a weary tone,
“I’d rather not talk about it...”
“Zachary Stephen Merrick you will tell me what you did to my best friend or I will kill you!” Cass shrieked and everyone gapped at her.

“I seriously didn’t do anything though! She’s the culprit in this!” Zack defended himself,
“Tell me!” Cass gripped the collar of his shirt,
“Woh Cass, cool and collected babe” Rian said amused at seeing his girlfriend so riled up.
“She ran into me, she was crying...a lot and I helped her up, Tasha asked if she was okay and she said yes before bolting, I went after her asking if she wanted me to call Rian, she freaked out and we got into an argument and she sort of...cried and ran away.” Zack spilled wide eyes from the currently very scary petite brunette.

“Where were you and Tasha?” Cass asked,
“Well my cousin and I were at the orphanage, her husband couldn’t come so I said I’d take her...” Zack replied and saw a look of shock cross her face, Rian choked on his drink and coughed.
“She was at the orphanage?” Both Rian and Cass gapped a look of panic on their face.
“Yea...” Zack lifted a questioning brow.
“Oh crap...” Both Rian and Cass said at the same time.

The next day

Mina made her way to Rolf’s office; Mina fidgeted with her hands as she clutched the large folder she had from the orphanage.
“Ms. Emilia Giovanni?” A woman asked and stood up, the woman smiled and motioned for her to follow and Mina timidly followed her and entered the office. Mina gapped at the man, he was very handsome...he had blond hair, bright sky blue eyes and a winning smile.
“Hello, you must be the girl my aunt spoke to me about” Rolf grinned and Mina blushed and shook his hand.
“Yep...” She replied meekly,
“Okay can I see those files?” Rolf indicated to what she held and mina held it out to him,
“So Ms. Giovanni you would like to find out who your birth mother is correct?” Rolf’s blue eyes analysed her face while she nodded.

“Is all the information in this folder?” Rolf asked standing up from his chair; Mina cleared her throat that was clogged with nervousness.
“Yes sir...” She replied shyly,
“Okay allow me to walk you out, this is all we can really do right now, I’ll personally look over this case Ms Giovanni” He said smiling and he stepped out of the front door with her, standing in front of the office.
“Thank you...oh and please call me Emilia” She gave him a thankful smile, she was about to walk away when she bumped into Alex, Zack, Rian and Jack...this place was way too small!
“Oh um... hey guys...” Mina said awkwardly,
“Emilia!” Mina heard her name being yelled behind her and she saw Rolf walk towards her, the boys were watching the two of them curiously.

“I forgot to grab your number” Rolf smiled and her mouth took the shape of an ‘0’, Rian and Zack both seemed to tense up.
“Oh silly me Um, here” she grabbed a piece of paper and jotted down her number and handed it to him, Rolf sent her a dimpled smile,
“I’ll call you soon” He said and waved at her, when she turned around she saw Rian’s narrowed eyes.
“Who the heck is that?”
