Sweet Temptations

Arguments

The two girls looked at one another and then back to Fernando. Ava gave him a stern look while Latoya stared at him in disgust. He couldn't believe he'd act so selfish towards her best friend. It were thanks to him that Ava was feeling down in the first place. "Um Ava, are you going to introduce me to your friend?" Fernando asked.

"This is Latoya, Latoya this is Fernando." Ava replied. She wasn't exactly in the mood for Fernando or introductions either.

"You're Latoya? Ava's told me quite a bit about you. It's nice to meet you." Fernando held out his hand for her to shake. Latoya simply stared at it and then flicked her eyes back to his face.

"I can't say the same for you," she snarled back at him. Fernando was taken aback by her anger. He looked towards Ava as if to say 'Aren't you going to say something?' She pursed her lips and glanced down to the ground, ignoring him.

"I have to go unpack. I'll call you later." Latoya picked up her suitcase and pushed past Fernando bumping into his right arm slightly. She opened the door and turned round to look back at Ava. "You should think about what I said, it might do you good." Glaring at the back of Fernando's head, she sent Ava a soft smile and walked out.

-

"What was that about?" Fernando asked suspiciously soon after the brunette had gone. Ava looked everywhere around the room except to him.

"Nothing." She quietly answered. Silence took over and Fernando's staring was beginning to irritate her. "Can you leave? This is my room."

"This is my house." Fernando argued back. Ava clenched her teeth and finally looked up to him. She glared back at the Spaniard and noticed the vein in his neck popping out. She could sense his fury. Ava had no idea why she was so angry lately but the way he'd been treating her, messing with her feelings, Ava had no choice but to act so rabid.

"Have you ever heard of privacy? I said leave." on the verge of breakdown, Ava forcibly pushed Fernando out of her room. He tried to shield himself and push back but it was no use. She'd already pushed him out into the corridor. He shook his head in annoyance and looked at the girl in front of him. Ava was about to close the door on him until the palm of his hand slammed up against the wood. His eyes darkened as he leaned towards her, their faces inches apart.

"You're impossible." He fired back. It was the final thing he said. Fernando stormed off, heading his way back downstairs. He shouted for Olalla half way down the stairs. Ava's lip quivered as she let out a small cry.

"I'll show you impossible." She sneered and headed back inside her room.

In the last two hours, Ava had packed everything into her suitcase. Every one of her bedroom units was now empty, leaving the room looking bare. She put on her long sleeved woolly jacket and her buckle combat boots before picking up her suitcase. She swung her backpack round her shoulder and left her room. Ava made her way down the corridor and stopped just before the one room she didn't want to go in most. She knocked and opened the door peeking round to see Nora playing with Leo. Saying goodbye to the pair would be hard. It wasn't for forever, she just wasn't going to see the kids as much.

"Ava!" The little girl shrieked as she ran up to Ava who engulfed Nora into a hug, not letting her go. Nora placed her head in Ava's neck and squeezed her tight. Leo slowly walked up to them and joined his sister in the hugging fest. He grabbed onto Ava's arm and placed his head on her shoulder. Ava was touched by the tiny sweet gesture from them both.

"Have you come to play?" Nora asked, gently pulling away from Ava who frowned down at the girl.

"Lo siento sweetheart, not today." Ava apologized. "I'm not gonna be here for a while so I need you both to behave for your mamá and papá okay?" She looked towards the two children who both looked down in sadness.

"Why you go?" Leo asked. Ava gave him a half smile and pinched his cheek.

"Because I have to."

She hugged the kids once more and left them to their playing. Ava couldn't believe how close she had gotten with them over the last month. They sure had some great memories together and she hoped there were many more to come. Ava continued on heading her way downstairs. As she passed the see through living room glass door, she heard multiple giggles coming from inside the room and Olalla's voice said "We shouldn't, not here." Ava felt like vomiting. She was about to walk on to the front door until another voice spoke it. She stopped and was shocked to realise that the person Olalla was with, was not Fernando. It was somebody else. Ava was about to interrupt Olalla's moment by walking in on her when the front door to the house opened. "Speaking of the devil" Ava thought as she saw Fernando appear. He dropped his car keys to the side and looked towards Ava; he then noticed her bags on the floor next to her.

"What's going on?"

Ava couldn't speak. She knew he wouldn't accept her plan on moving out but he had no choice. She gulped before replying. "I'm moving out." Fernando couldn't believe what he was hearing. Anger repulsed through his body as he stared Ava down.

"What? You cannot be serious," he hissed. The blonde gave him a blank look. She didn't know what had happened to them. "Why is he so angry all the time for no reason? I didn't do anything wrong' Ava wondered.

"I am."

"I swear, if you take one step out of this house-"

"You'll what? Ignore me even more? Put a lock on my room? Ground me? You're not my father Fernando, and you're not my guardian either." Ava barked and breathed a heavy sigh. Fernando's body suddenly moved and he pushed Ava roughly up against the wall making their bodies press together. His eyes stared down deep into her own.

"I swore to Flori that I would look after you. I don't have to protect you. Do you underst-"

"Ow! Fernando you're hurting me." Ava cried out as she interrupted him. His grip on her arm became tighter but he wasn't listening.

"Do you understand?" He asked properly this time. Ava tried to escape his grasp by slapping his hand away and forcibly pushing him away from her, only for him to push her harder against the wall.

"Get off me." She hit his chest but he grabbed her hand.

"I made a promise to my mother that I would look after you."

"Some promise that turned out to be." Ava snarled. A tear ran down her cheek as she watched Fernando's face turn from anger to a priceless look. He just looked like he had been slapped and he couldn't quite believe that she'd say something like that.

"Ava please," he begged. He hated seeing her cry and seeing her now break down in front of him was almost too much for him to bare. "Just stay look, lo siento. I take back what I did, everything I said but please don't leave. I don't want you to go. I can't lose you." He whispered.

Ava sighed as she let more tears run down her face. "You should have thought about that before you went back to your wife and pretended to play happy families. You should have thought about that before you pushed me away." With that, Ava picked up her suitcase and headed straight towards the door. She left the house and Fernando followed close behind her. He watched Ava pass her things to Latoya who put them in the back of her car. She got inside the vehicle while Latoya looked towards Fernando with pity.

"I hope you're pleased with yourself." Latoya replied and got inside the car before driving herself and her friend to her new place where she'd be now staying. Once the car was out of sight, he walked back into the building. As he glanced back up from the floor, an unfamiliar male walked straight past him and out of the house. Olalla was next to walk out the living room. Fernando's eyebrows knitted together in suspicion.

"William. He just came to check the wiring." Was all she said. Fernando gave an unsure nod as Olalla walked off upstairs shouting for Nora and Leo.
