Throwing Stones at Glass Houses

Chapter 6

I hurried along trying to get home fast. I was only a block away when i hit into someone and stumbled backwards. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," he said trying to help me up. "Watch where you're going ass- uh, um s-s-sorry," I said looking up the boy. He extended his hand and I happily took it this time. This guy was absolutely perfect. "My names Vic, Vic Fuentes. Cómo te llamas," he asked me. My stomach tied in a knot as I listened to the words roll off his tongue. I took about a minute to figure out what he said. "Stella, Stella Barakat," I said questioning myself a bit. He smiled, "Tú eres muy bonita." I looked at him, "I'm sorry I don't speak Spanish," I said looking down a bit embarrassed. "I'm sorry beautiful. I didn't even realize I was speaking in Spanish. I said you're really pretty," he said. I bit my lip still looking down. "Don't look down," he said putting his finger on my chin and pushing my head up. I released my lip from between my teeth, "I really should be going." "Me to," Vic said sticking his hands in his pockets, "It was nice meeting you." "Bye," I said starting to walk away. "Llámame," he said sticking his number into my sweatshirt pocket. I smiled walking down the pavement towards my house.
