You Are the Greatest Thing That Ever Happened to Me

I was the first one to wake up the next morning. Stephen's arm was wrapped around my waist and I tried my best to get up the couch without waking him up, but of course I failed
"Oh hey, good morning" Stephen said with his morning voice as he took his arm off my waist
"Good morning" I smiled as I got off the couch
"Want me to help you clean this mess up?" he asked
"Please?" I smiled
"Of course" he grinned and he got up.

The living room is such a mess, four people are passed out on the floor while two people are passed out on the couch
"Guys!" Stephen shouted loud enough to wake them all up
"What the fuck happened last night?" John groaned as he rubbed his eyes and then he got off Jess' lap
"You guys got drunk and passed out" Stephen said
"Shit, we're really sorry" Brian apologized
"No need to be sorry, we got drunk too, ugh major hang over" Sierra groaned
"Hey, I wasn't drunk!" I laughed "I'm never drunk"
"Some things never change" Paige laughed "And I suppose Stephen wasn't drunk as well?"
"I bet he wasn't" Josh said "He's never drunk, weird fucker"
"Hey, you guys are just weak" Stephen laughed "Now get up and let's clean up" and so they did.

After we cleaned the living room, Sierra cooked breakfast with Brian (of course) and then we ate.
"Last night was fun" Jess said "One of the best nights ever"
"I agree" Josh nodded
"Stephen, your birthday's gonna be in two weeks, you should give us free beer" Brian said
"December 8 mark your calendars, ladies" Josh said to us
"Wait, how old are you? I thought you're 24?" Paige asked
"No I'm not" Stephen said "I'm 23"
"NOBODY LIKES YOU WHEN YOU'RE 23" John sang
"Wait, December 8?" I asked and Stephen nodded "But when we met in Australia you told us you're already 17"
"Yeah" Sierra said "We met before December 8"
"And you told us that you're 17 and it wasn't even December 8 yet" Paige added
"Wow, your remember all that?" Brian asked
"Of course we do" we all said in unison
"Well" Stephen said "I don't like celebrating my birthday so I didn't tell you guys when it was. I'm sorry" he apologized, he really did seem sorry for what he did, it's not a big deal though.
"Hey, it's okay" I smiled
"No it's not, I lied" he said
"No! Stephen, it's okay" I smiled "Right guys?" I said then Sierra and Paige nodded
"It's not a big deal, dude" Sierra said
"Yeah. Don't feel so guilty" Paige added "We were just surprised, that's all."
"See?" I said
"Thank you guys for understanding, and I'm really sorry okay? I just don't like celebrating my birthday before" he said "But I love my birthday now, I can go to clubs, drink beer and do anything" he laughed
"You better throw the best birthday party ever" Jess said "With great booze"
"Yeah dude" Josh agreed "This should be the party of the year"
"Let's go to Disneyland!" Brian shouted
"Dude, you can't bring beer inside Disneyland" John said
"Break the fucking rules!" Brian laughed
"Dude, I don't wanna get arrested on my birthday. And plus there are kids in there" Stephen said
"Fine" Brian groaned "But can we go to Disneyland? It doesn't have to be on your birthday, I just need to go there again"
"What is it with you and Disney?" Paige asked
"Disney saved my life" Brian smiled
"Don't mind him. He's Walt Disney's number one fan" John said "He's a dork"
"Aw, but I love Disney" Sierra pouted
"You are my soulmate!" Brian shouted "Who's the dork now?!"

After a lot more talks they decided that it's time for them to leave since it was 12pm and they have some errands to do. We also have some errands to do as well, we're going to the modeling company we applied into, we always wanted to be models, probably because we watch America's Next Top Model too much.
"So we'll just give you a call about the party okay?" Stephen said before they left and we nodded.

"Are you sure this is it?'' Paige asked nervously as we stood in front of the company's building
"Yes" Sierra said
"Guys.. I am really really nervous" I gulped
"Me too" Paige whined
"Hey hey hey" Sierra said "Don't be okay? We're gonna live our dreams. That's why we're here. To live our lives" she's right, there's no reason to be afraid or nervous, we're gonna live our life, gonna live our dreams and we're gonna be happy because this is what we really want
"You're right" I nodded and so did Paige
"Come one" Sierra smiled as we walked to the door.

Sierra was right, we had no reason to be scared, everyone was super nice and very welcoming. Our boss, Mrs. Rivers is a nice woman, not the mean kind of boss but the nice kind of boss. She told us our schedule, we should be there at 8am during Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Our salary's not bad, they'll pay us well if we're punctual and if we stick to the schedule. And for once in my life, I feel like I had everything figured out.

Two weeks after our little drinking session, I got a call from John
"ADELAIDE" he screamed and I'm pretty sure he damaged my eardrum
"John, not too loud. I can hear you" I groaned
"Sorry" he said "But I'm just really happy to talk to you, I mean we haven't talked in awhile and I miss you guys"
"Aww, John we miss you too!" I smiled "So what's up?"
"Stephen's party is gonna be tomorrow night. You should come" he said
"Are we invited?" I asked
"What kind of question is that? Of course you are" he laughed
"Yeah sure, we'll be there" I giggled "But where is he throwing the party?"
"Las Vegas" John said
"John, we don't know how to get there and we don't even have a car"
"No worries! We'll pick you guys up. We'll use the van that we use when we go on tour. Sounds good?" he said
"Yeah sure" I said "Thanks for inviting us"
"Aw c'mon, of course you guys are invited, you're one of Stephen's best friends"
"Who else will be there?" I asked
"A lot of our closest friends"
"Oh" I said nervously
"So, we'll pick you up tomorrow at 12pm okay?" he said
"Yeah sure, Oh wait when will we come back here?"
"It's just an overnight"
"Okay" I said and then he hung up.

John and Stephen picked us up at around 12:15, the next day. And then we picked up Jess at her apartment, then we picked up Josh then Brian. I was really surprised that the eight of us could fit in the minivan. Brian and Sierra sat beside each other at the back, Josh sat beside Paige, Paige sat beside Jess and of course Jess sat beside John. Stephen was driving the van and I sat at the passenger seat. It felt really awkward between us, we would tend to look at each other and not say anything so we would just laugh awkwardly then look away, while the others had their own world. Not quite sure why Sierra and Brian kept on laughing at the back while Jess and John kept on tickling each other, Paige and Josh just took pictures but Stephen and I? We were just there, sitting, saying nothing.

The drive didn't take so long, we got to the hotel pretty early so we decided to eat lunch first.
Of course walked in pairs again and of course it was still awkward between Stephen and I, I don't get him, he was really sweet to me when we last saw each other and now he's all awkward and shy.

It's really pretty in Vegas and I really can't believe that I'm finally here, I mean I saw it in pictures but.. this is the real thing, I could feel the Vegas vibe, I am in Sin City.

We had lunch in this great restaurant with great food then we check in the hotel.

"So how many rooms, bro?" John asked
"Four" Stephen replied
"So, two in one room?" Josh said "That's great. Brian and I will share rooms"
"Adelaide and I will share" Jess smiled
"So Sierra and I will share" Paige cheered
"Brothers for life!!" John laughed as he bro hugged Stephen
"Yeah, whatever. Here are your cards lovely people! Get some rest" Stephen smiled "Tonight's gonna be the party of the year"

"Ahh! I love hotel beds" Jess sighed as she jumped on a bed, our room's pretty awesome. Bathtub, Two large beds, Flat screen TV and of course a super beautiful view.
"It's really nice here in Vegas" I smiled as I went near the window and stared at the view
"Your first time here huh?" Jess asked then I nodded "It's prettier at night, with all the lights and stuff"
"Cool" I nodded as I sat on my bed "I wonder what tonight's gonna be like"
"It's gonna be wicked!" Jess laughed "Stephen trows really great parties"
"Really?"
"Yeah last year, we celebrated his birthday at our friends house and the police had to shut us down"
"Shit, you guys are pretty wild huh?"
"Kinda, I don't know. But don't worry, our friends are nice, no jerks and hoes allowed in our parties and Stephen's never drunk so, he has it all under control"
"That's a relief" I smiled
"So, what's up with you and Stephen by the way?" she asked
"What do you mean?"
"Well, you guys aren't talking to each other. Is everything fine?"
"Of course.. I think" I said "He's just... he's being awkward around me"
"Do you want me to talk to him?" Jess offered
"No no, it's fine. I'm just gonna talk to him later"
"I hope everything's alright" Jess gave me a warm smile
"Me too"
"Well, we better rest now. Remember what Stephen said awhile ago.. it's gonna be the party of the year"
