You Are the Greatest Thing That Ever Happened to Me

I woke up and I realized it was December 20. Today is the day I leave Sydney, time flies so fast, prom's in three days and I'm really nervous, not really sure why I mean, I have a date, I have my friends and I know it'll be a fun night but, I just feel so nervous.
It's 7 am and we're all awake, we packed our bags and we took one last walk around this beautiful place
"I'll miss this place" John sighed
"Me too" Paige agreed, of all my friends Paige's the one who loved this place the most
"I'll miss you guys" Chesca said and she wrapped an arm around John who was a lot shorter than her
"Hey, I'm still gonna go to prom" Stephen said then winked at me and I kinda blushed, shit
"Yeah, but John won't" Sierra said and she wrapped and arm around John too, they were like towering over him but John enjoyed it, he'll miss us, I know it
"I'll miss this, when we walk around Sydney and just talk about life and I'll miss our drinking sessions and how we all get drunk except for Adelaide and Stephen, I'll miss eating cereals with you guys while watching football, I'll miss you guys so much, you're like.. you guys are my best friends. You should visit Arizona next time and you should totally meet our friends, you'll get along well" John said
"Yeah, by that time you'll be going out with Jess huh?" I laughed and John nodded then winked
"Fuck you Stephen, I'll be with mom and dad for like a week. ughhh" John groaned
"Then come with us" Stephen rolled his eyes
"Yeah! That's be rad" Paige said
"What do you say? Would you like to come with us?" I asked
"Nah, mom and dad won't allow me. I'll just stay in and chat with the gang" John smiled
"Say hi to them for me okay?" Stephen laughed and John nodded
I really wish John could come with us in Melbourne, but he's right, his parents wouldn't allow him, I'll really miss John, he's like the happiest kid ever, his laugh is super contagious and his jokes are corny but you'll find yourself laughing at it.

It was around 8am when dad showed up
"You kids ready?" Dad asked and we all nodded, our bags were all packed and the suite was clean and we're ready for Melbourne, we went down to the lobby and Mr and Mrs Gomez were there for John
"Hi John!" Mrs Gomez smiled and gave her son a hug "I missed you baby"
"Mom" John mumbled but he hugged her though "I missed you too" he said
"Stephen honey, you be good okay?" Mrs Gomez said as he pulled away from John to hug Stephen
"I will" Stephen nodded
"Take a picture, okay son?" Mr Gomez laughed and Stephen smirked then he nodded
"Have fun! We'll see you soon!" Mrs Gomez said then kissed Stephen's cheek and Mrs Gomez messed with his son's hair
"Well, I guess this is it" John sighed
"Aww John" Chesca, Paige, Sierra and I said all at once then we hugged him
"We'll miss you" Sierra said
"We'll never forget you" Paige added
"Never forget us okay?" says Chesca
"We love you John" I said lastly then we pulled away
"I'll miss you too, and I'll never forget you guys and last but not least.... I love you, you're like sisters to me" John smiled
"Well, see ya soon little boy" Stephen grinned and they bro fist

Leaving Sydney is like.... the hardest thing ever, I had the best Christmas break ever and I met new friends and they'll always be a part of me and I just hate the fact that I'm not gonna see John anymore, I mean sure I'll see him but I won't see him in years. But, life goes on, we were only there to spend Christmas break not to spend our whole lives there right?

The drive to Melbourne was long but it was fun, we were using dad's minivan, Paige, Sierra and Chesca sat together and Stephen and I sat beside each other, we talked and laughed a lot and dad would crack a joke every now and then, the drive was long but it wasn't boring.
We arrived in Melbourne at around 9:30pm, dad dropped off Sierra first then Paige then Chesca then me, dad has a rest house in Melbourne and Stephen will be staying there with him.

"Hi dear!" Mom cheered as she opened the door and she gave me a hug
"Hi mom!" I laughed "I missed you"
"I missed you too!" mom smiled "Good evening, Adam"
"How are you Taylor?" dad smiled and gave her a hug
"Fine, and you?"
"Same" dad laughed, while we were having our 'family moment' I saw Stephen was there behind dad and I could see that he feels a little awkward and out of place, so I introduced him
"Mom, this is Stephen, he's my friend!" I said
"Oh hello, Stephen nice to meet you, I'm Taylor, Adelaide's mom" she smiled
"Nice to meet you too, mam" Stephen smiled
"He's a Gomez" dad said and mom's eyes grew wide
"Oh dear! How are your parents? Tell them I said Hi okay? and tell them we need to catch up, and tell them I miss them" mom said all at once, jeez, they sure are close to Mr and Mrs Gomez
"They're fine and I'll tell them you said Hi" Stephen laughed
"Also, He's Adelaide's date for prom" Dad grinned and my mom smiled
"Adelaide honey, is he your boyfriend?" mom asked then she grinned
"No!" Stephen and I said in unison and my parents laughed at us
"Mom, Dad. No" I mumbled
"Aw, we're just joking honey" mom said and dad laughed, for the first time, my parents are acting so immature and they look so cute
"But you should always know that if ever you kids do go out someday, I'm completely okay with that, I would even support you" dad laughed
"Same here!" mom laughed too and they high fived, woah
"You guys sure are happy" I said
"Well you should know that before your mother and I dated we were best friends" dad laughed
"Yeah, it's true" mom nodded "Oh wait, do you wanna come in?" mom said, and I realized we were standing in the door way the whole time
"No no, we better get going" dad smiled "It's been a long day"
"I understand, long drives are tiring" mom said
"Well, goodbye Adelaide" dad smiled and he kissed my forehead "Love you"
"Love you too, dad"
"Bye, Taylor" dad laughed
"Bye Adam"
"Goodnight, Adelaide, sleep well" Stephen smiled and he gave me a hug "Stoked for prom" he whispered in my ear and it gave me chills
"Same" I whispered back and he laughed lightly and we pulled away..

We watched dad's minivan drive away and we got in the house
"So, do you like him?" mom asked
"Who?"
"Stephen" mom grinned
"Mom, we're friends" I groaned
"Are you guys dating?"
"Mom, for the last time, Stephen is not my boyfriend"
"Yet" Mom said, so basically what my mom was trying to say was "He is not my boyfriend yet"

Well, he isn't my boyfriend, he's just my date for prom.
