Do Overs and Second Chances

You Have a Two Second Rebound Until You're Back Doing Another Pain in the Ass Thing.

"St-Stephanie?!" My voice was half caught in my throat as I leaned closer to her, "Oh my God! How've you been?" I spoke, kind of shocked that I had even found her in this huge city. She laughed and backed up,

"I've been great, now that we don't talk anymore!" That cut deep. I winced and chuckled, leaning close to her and putting a hand around her waist so she had no choice but to scoot closer to me,

"That's not what your hips were saying a few seconds ago." I spoke in a husky tone as her chest pressed up against mine, "Let's go sit down and talk a little." Steph put her hand on my chest and started to push me away,

"You remember what happened last time we talked." She got me off of her and was starting to move to one of the back tables,

"And? I can deal with you being a pain in the ass." I chuckled, following her to the table and scooting into the stool across from her, "The question is, can you deal with me being an asshole?" I propped my hands on the table and rested my hand in my palm.

Stephanie had barely changed. She was still that beautiful, petite, little bleached, blonde sweetheart I remember so fondly. She had her beautifully lipsticked lips, those darling brown eyes. Her half crooked smile with her brilliantly white teeth. I missed the way her perfect skin felt on mine.

"What do you want to talk about?" Stephanie was the first to speak, taking a sip of her drink and crossing her long, graceful legs,

"Oh, you know. I just wanna catch up with you." I shrugged and she laughed,

"Alright, how's everything been with your wife?" God I wish she knew. I shook my head and my hand flew to my neck, grabbing my wedding ring that was hanging from the chain around my neck. I stared down at the table as I thought about how I was going to tell her,

"Sicily- uhm- Sicily killed herself." Stephanie nearly spit her drink on the floor when I said this.

"What?" She stared at me, wide eyed and disbelieving. I nodded and she wiped the liquid from her chin that managed to slip through her delicate, red lips, "Was she still...?" She made a motion to being pregnant and I shook my head,

"No..." I sighed and could feel tears starting in my eyes, "It was the day after Alexa was born." I sniffed and tried to keep myself from getting too emotional.

Stephanie nodded and we kind of sat there in silence for a little while. I rubbed my face and jabbed my thumb back toward the front of the club,

"Do you maybe wanna come back to the bus with me? This place is a little loud." She nodded and we both got up from the table and walked out of the club.

I put my arm around Stephanie to keep her from getting dragged away from me, I really need to talk to her right now.

When we stepped outside it was cold, and windy. As the blast of cold air hit us Stephanie shivered and I squeezed her tighter. It was funny how she seemed to fit so nicely at my side. I cleared my throat and Stephanie shivered again. She was kind of stupid for wearing that little black dress I got her. I took my jacket off and slipped it onto her shoulders,

"You know, I meant for you to wear that dress in the summer time, right?" I spoke sarcastically as we made our way around to the back of the building where the bus was parked. Stephanie laughed and pushed me away slightly before reattaching herself to my side for warmth,

"Shut up, asshole." She chuckled as we moved slowly from the sidewalk to the bus. She slipped her arms into the sleeves of my jacket and around my waist. I just laughed at her as I knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer, knowing it was locked and Casey was inside, waiting for me or Mike or someone to come back from the club.

After no one answered I tried the door, the handle gave and it opened. This was weird, the door was never unlocked. I guess someone forgot to lock it when they came inside. I shrugged and pulled the door open, thinking nothing of it. When Stephanie was on with me I walked back behind her and shut the door. After the door was shut a sound came from the back lounge.

I scrunched my eyebrows together and looked at Stephanie before mouthing "Did you hear that too?" She made the same face and nodded, walking toward the back lounge. I chuckled as I heard the sound again, it was a girl half moaning.

Mike.

I chuckled and shook my head, letting my arms drop to my sides before putting my finger to my lips, telling Steph to stay quiet. She nodded in understanding and put her hand up to her lips, covering her little laugh as I moved next to the door of the back lounge. I hit my knuckle against it, getting the pair inside's attention,

"Miike, you know the rules!" I teased him and heard him groan exasperatedly which was followed by the girl talking in a hushed tone,

"I thought you said no one else was on the bus!"

"Yeah! No one else was on the bus!" I laughed at Mike's stupidity and shook my head again, "What are you doing on the bus, Tony?" I shrugged and listened as they got dressed, they had some loud clothing.

"I came back to talk with an old friend." And in another second the back lounge door lazed open to show Mike doing up his belt and some pretty little dirty blonde girl behind him pulling the shoulder of her dress back over her arm. My eyebrow unconsciously popped upward as the girl turned toward the door, accidentally flashing the entire front of the bus.

At least, I think it was an accident. My eyes traveled back to Mike's face and I just shrugged at the face he was making,

"Hi Mike." Stephanie piped in, cautiously as Mike eyed me suspiciously. He turned his gaze back to the little girl he had with him as she stood next to him, standing nearly an entire foot shorter than him. She lifted herself onto her toes and kissed his lips softly,

"Am I gonna see you again?"

"Maybe?" God it was disgusting to think that Mike actually got some. I mean what with how terribly bad he reeks most of the time.

I shook my head and pushed past Mike into the lounge,

"You didn't get very far, I hope." I joked at him. He scoffed and shook his head,

"No. Now if you need to interrupt anymore of my activities I'll be outside, having a smoke." He pushed past Stephanie as she joined me and then off the bus into the cold winter night's air.

"So," I paused as the back lounge door closed and sat down on the black leather couch, "What happened to you?"
