You Should've Been Here

But the time is ticking.

Madison really didn't know what she expected to happen from her and Vic kissing, but him wanting her to leave was furthest from her mind. She couldn't help the tears welling up in her eyes as she made it to Kellin's bus. She was sensitive when it came to Vic.

Once at the bus door she knocked loudly and thankfully the dark headed boy was the one who answered.

"Hey...What's wrong?" He asked seriously and she shook her head, "Is it ok if I like, well, move in with you guys?"

"What? Yeah. Of course." He said still a bit confused as she thanked him and stepped onto the bus.

"What happened, Madison?" He asked again and she fell onto the couch.

"Vic."

"I figured that much."

Madison sighed and leaned against the seat, "He kissed me."

"He did what?" He questioned with surprised eyes.

"Yeah..."

"Oh. And you're mad..."

"No. Well, yes because afterwards he was like, you just need to go home. This can't happen again." She mocked and Kellin narrowed his eyebrows together, "Really?"

She nodded and he stood up from his seat, "Let me talk to him."

"No..."

"Yeah, relax. You aren't going home and he's going to apologize." He said before leaving her alone on the bus. Madison sighed and laid down on the couch. This was exhausting.

Kellin basically sprinted to where Vic was and once in the bus he found the boy sitting in the floor in the middle of the bunks.

"Go away." Vic grumbled.

"I can't do that because I have an upset girl on my bus. Vic, why would you say that? I mean, you kissed. Don't ruin it by telling her to leave!"

Vic shook his head, "I'll ruin what we have."

"You already did. She isn't going to forget that you kissed her."

Vic sighed and let his face drop into his hands, "Why did I do that? Fuck. I'm so stupid."

"We do stupid things when we love people."

The distressed boy looked up, "Love?"

"You love her."

"I..."

"You do. The quicker you accept that the easier it will be for you."

"The more pain I'll be in."

Kellin shook his head, "Doubt it. She feels the same."

"You don't know that and I'd truthfully rather not know as well."

"Why not? What if she did?"

Vic shook his head viciously, "She doesn't. There's just no way she could."

"You are an idiot."

Vic sighed and laid on his back as his head swarmed with too many thoughts. He was scared. Scared that if he told her how he felt he would lose her. He was also scared that if he let her go he would lose her as well. It was a lose, lose situtation right now.

"I don't know what to do. I can't be without her. I mean, if she goes home I know she won't talk to me which will kill me, but if she stays I'm not going to be able to stop myself from telling her how I feel or hell, apparently from kissing her. Fuck. I don't want to feel this way, dude. I don't want to have feelings for her."

"You can't stop feeling what you're feeling..."

"So what do I do now?" Vic asked sitting up again and Kellin shrugged, "Just tell her the truth."

"I can't."

"You already fucked up by kissing her so just tell her. You have nothing to lose at this point."

"No, I can't do that. I'll fix this and figure something out."

"Yeah, well our show is in an hour so do it now."

Vic nodded and forced himself from the floor. He followed Kellin back to his bus and Kellin patted his shoulder before walking in to get the girl.

"Madison, go outside and talk to Vic he's waiting on you."

She stared up at him and he sighed, "Please go talk to him."

Madison groaned and got up from the couch before stomping off of the bus where Vic was pacing back and forth.

"Yes?"

Vic stopped immediately and stepped to her, "Ok, just listen to me. I, I shouldn't have kissed you. I'm sorry. Seriously. You're my best friend. It was stupid. It happened probably because I haven't been with a girl in months and I'm sorry. No, I don't want you to go home or stay with Kellin. Can we just forget about this?"

Madison just stared at him as she bit her bottom lip. What was even more messed up was that she didn't want to forget it. She didn't know what she wanted, but she didn't want it to go this way either.

"Madi?" He asked timidly and she managed to nod.

"So....are we ok?"

"Yeah..."

Vic stared at her unsure if she truly felt that way or not.

"Tell me what you're thinking."

She shook her head no once more and he sighed, "Are you mad at me?"

"No..."

"Madison..."

She shook her head, "Just leave me alone, Vic."

"You aren't mad, but you don't want to be around me..."

She nodded and he rolled his eyes, "Madison! Fucking talk to me!"

"I don't want to talk to you!"

"Why? Just tell me why? Is this not what you want to hear?"

"Vic just stop..."

He shook his head and pinned her to the bus.

"Madison, I'm telling you what you want to here. Please. Just take it ok?" He whispered.

"No, I just want the truth."

Vic breathed in as he pressed the palm of his hands firmly to the bus. His nerves now finding their way back into his stomach.

"No you don't. Don't make me, ok? I just, it won't be good for us." He said sincerely and she sighed, "Why not?"

"Because, it isn't what you want. That much I know."

"You don't know what I want."

"Tell me then." He said seriously as he narrowed his dark eyes at her, "Tell me what you want."

She bit her lips nervously and before she could answer Vic's name was called causing him to immediately back up from the girl.

Tony jogged up telling Vic that they needed to go get set up since they were playing frst tonight. Vic nodded and looked back at Madison who was still leaned against the bus trying to regulate her breathing.

"This isn't over Madison." He said seriously before following after the boy. Madison breathed in before walking back onto the bus where Kellin was waiting patiently.

"I don't get why you two just don't admit you like each other. Madison, he kissed you because he wanted to. Because he is in love with you and wants to be with you."

She shook her head and he rolled his eyes, "Now you are acting like him."

"Do you like him?" He asked and she didn't bother to respond which caused him to laugh, "I swear you two are just alike!"

"Whatever. Don't you have a show?"

"Yeah, yeah. Are you not coming?"

"No..."

Kellin groaned, "Fine. See you later."

Madison forced herself to go back to Pierce The Veil's bus and crawled into her bunk. The silence made it easy to fall asleep and she really just needed some time not dedicated to over thinking right now.

"Where is Madison?" Mike asked as they packed up their things after the show.

Vic shrugged and Mike gave him a weird look, "Are you two fighting?"

"Yeah. She's mad at me."

"Why?"

"I kissed her." He said more blunt than Mike was prepared for which caused his brother's mouth to fall open, "Are you serious?"

"Yeah." Vic said boringly as he grabbed up his bag.

"But she likes you back."

Vic stifled a laugh, "Whatever. I told her it was stupid and it would never happen again."

"Oh so she's mad because you hurt her..."

Vic looked over at his brother. What if that's why? He had never thought of it that way.

"Well, I would have found out if Tony didn't interrupt us earlier."

"Well talk to her when we get back."

"I am." Vic grumbled before leaving the room. He was physically and emotionally exhausted but he couldn't go to sleep knowing Madison was upset with him. She was one person he never liked to let down.

Once on the bus he questioned if she had stayed with Kellin simply from the silence, but decided to check her bunk anyways. Relief filled his stomach once he saw her curled up and sleeping peacefully. He would feel bad about waking her but he couldn't but it off any longer or he would go insane. He sat on her bunk gently and she stirred a bit from the movement. He breathed in deeply before speaking, "Novio?" He whispered brushing his fingers over her cheek.

"Mhm?" She mumbled clearly still half asleep, "Madi, we need to talk."

Madison finally woke up enough to crack open her eyes, "Vic...no." She whispered and he ignored her, "Answer truthfully..."

She sighed and stared up at him waiting for him to get to the question already.

"Did you like kissing me?" He asked softly and she covered her face with her hands.

"Answer me." He said as he gently pulled her hands away.

"I don't want to."

Vic breathed in, "Fine, if I wanted to kiss you again, would you let me?"

She bit her bottom lip nervously before forcing herself to nod.

Vic's heart picked up speed and he leaned into her, "Yeah?"

She nodded once more as nerves hit her instantly.

He bought his hand to her cheek, "What if I do wanna kiss you?"

"Mhm?" He asked inching his lips closer to hers.

"Then do it." She breathed out and he didn't waste time on doing so. His hand tangled in her hair as the two feverishly kissed. He knew the consequence. He did. He knew that this could ruin what they have, but the thought of it turning into something even more amazing is what made him do it. Some things he had no choice over.

"I just don't want to lose you." He whispered touching his forehead to hers.

"Why would you lose me?"

"I don't just want to be friends with you, Madi."

"I gathered that."

Vic chuckled, "Such a smart ass."

She couldn't help but laugh and he kissed her cheek, "So what does this mean?"

"I don't know. You tell me. You started it."

He chuckled, "I did huh?"

She nodded and he relaxed beside her, "I feel like I'm a bit scared to start something, but it's like, if I don't, I'll regret it. I know I will."

"Well then you should definitely try it."

A grin hit his lips and he kissed her cheek, "Then I will."

She smiled and he brushed back her hair, "Are you scared?"

Madison chuckled, "A bit."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, I mean, it's you and it's going to be really different, not bad different, just you know..."

"Yeah, I get it."

Madison stared up at him and he kissed her nose, "I think we will be ok. Just going to have to get use to being able to kiss you."

"Yeah, true."

Vic sighed and laid beside her as she turned on her side to face him. He brought his hand to her hair as he gave her a weak grin, "Be my girl, novio."

"Haven't I always been your girl, Fuentes?"

Vic chuckled, "Yeah, you're right, but I want everyone to know now."

"Facebook that shit." She joked causing the two of them to start laughing.

"I swear you are so special."

She couldn't help but giggle and he kissed her cheek as he pulled his phone from his pocket.

"I was kidding."

Vic chuckled, "I'm instagraming this shit."

She laughed as she leaned on his shoulder to see what he was doing. Vic laughed at his own wit as he chose a picture of her and typed away on his phone.

"Do you think that's smart?" She asked as she pulled back to look at him.

"Why wouldn't it be?"

"I mean, girls are now going to hate me."

"Oh whatever. I'm not Jaime. You're fine."

Madison rolled her eyes, "You're right. You're not. You're cuter."

A grin hit the boy's lips, "To you maybe."

"Vic you are a lead singer of a band. Trust me, whether you believe it or not there are more than several girls out there who are probably obsessed with you."

A grin hit Vic's lips as he propped himself up on his elbow, "Oh? Are you obsessed with me by chance?"

"No, I just stick around in hopes of us getting married and then my 2nd marriage being to a member of One Direction."

Vic couldn't help but laugh and the girl chuckled.

"Probably."

Madison rolled her eyes with a grin, "Whatever."

Vic smiled before leaning in and kissing her cheek, "Doesn't matter. No one is going to be mean, Madi. They should be use to seeing you by now."

She nodded and he pulled her to his chest, "And if someone is I'll make sure that comes to an end real quick."

"Oh big bad Vic huh?"

"Mhm. For you." He mumbled into her hair. She wrapped her arms around him and the two stayed in silence for a while.

"I'm going to fall asleep." She whispered.

Vic chuckled, "You can, novio."

"Going to stay with me?"

"If you want me to I will."

"So you're staying."

Vic laughed, "Guess so!"

She chuckled and he kissed her once more and cuddled her closer. Sure, it was odd for this to be taking place in a sense that they had been friends for longer than he could remember, but it also felt comforting, sort of like this is how it should have been all along and he couldn't help but believe that was in fact the truth.
