Dear Santa.

Chapter 12

Once Olive joined me again in the hallway, I linked my arm with her’s before we begun making our way through the hallway. “Now are you going to tell me what happened with you and Harry? I know something did,” I told my best friend as it was obvious, at least to me it was.

“It’s nothing really, Harry just got a little touchy that’s all. Nothing that you need to know Stel,” She tried to tell me but I was stubborn and I would continue to ask until she decided to share what happened with me.

“Harry getting touchy with you is not nothing, Olive. No wonder you looked so flushed after waking him up,” I couldn’t stop the smile from spreading across my face as I looked at my best friend, we took the elevator down as it was much quicker than taking the stairs.

“I wasn’t flushed, Stella. And it’s none of your business,” Olive told me which I didn’t believe, we told each other everything and I’d get it out of her sooner or later.

“You were flushed, did you have to make him stop before it went further? I can’t believe Harry wanted you, this is moving so fast,” I spoke which only resulted in Olive smacking my arm, we laughed as we walked through the hotel.

“We’re not talking about this anymore,” Olive told me as we ventured through the front doors and outside into the winter cold, a shiver instantly ran down my spine and now I knew why the guys all wanted to stay inside.

We decided to walk down the street in the direction we didn’t go the day before, I loved visiting little towns and seeing the old buildings that formed along the streets. There weren’t too many people out so Olive and I walked in a comfortable silence, though it wasn’t long until I broke it.

“Do you think we should really be doing this, Olive? I mean we don’t suddenly have different lives one morning, I want to enjoy this and see if I have a chance with Liam. But this makes me nervous,” I admitted to her knowing there wasn’t going to be an answer to what we were going through.

“I really don’t know, Stella. But I am having fun and I’d never have this chance again, Harry likes me and this only happens in my dreams. I don’t know why or how this happened, but let’s just enjoy ourselves.” She tried to reason with me but I would still be thinking about this constantly.

As we walked we noticed all stores were shut, it wasn’t a big surprise but it meant we’d just eat at the hotel for the day.

“You still seem to be getting along with Liam, why don’t you talk to him more or ask him out? I’m not letting you throw this amazing chance away, Stel.” Olive promised me and turned the tables onto me.

“I want to, Liv. But now that he’s actually in front of me, he makes me anxious and then I doubt myself.” I admitted to her knowing that I could tell her anything that I needed to, Liam was so much better in person than what I had imagined.

“You’ll be fine, trust me on this. Aren’t you glad now that I suggested we move to England?” Olive gave me her ‘I knew I was right’ smile, at first I wasn’t sure about the move and it took me a week before I agreed.

“Yes, I’m glad that we came here. Will you stop rubbing that in my face, now? We both know this was the best decision we’ve made, I still can’t believe how fast the time has gone.” It felt like the other day we moved into our little flat with pretty much nothing with us.

It was a struggle but it was a struggle that we went through together, if I didn’t have Olive by my side than I never would have left home back in Australia.

Olive and I stayed out exploring the small town until we couldn’t stand the coldness any longer, my legs and hands were freezing so we hurried back to the hotel. Making our way back upstairs, I forced my key card through the device that opened the door.

Glancing over my shoulder, I saw the confused frown on Olive’s face when two female voices hit our ears. As we stepped into the room, all the guys were still sitting around but a brunette and blonde instantly caught my attention

Both were beautiful and I knew who they were, Eleanor and Perrie. The girlfriends of Louis and Zayn, I was a little put off only because I hadn’t for some reason expected them to be there. Which is stupid considering it was Christmas.

“You two took you’re time, we’ve been waiting here for ages.” Eleanor smiled as she climbed off Louis’ lap and brought both Olive and myself into her arms, Perrie was quick to follow as I returned the hugs as I pretended that I did indeed know them.

“Sorry, we got carried away and lost track of time.” Olive was the one who spoke that time, taking our thick jackets I hung them up in the closet which gave me a few seconds to process this.

“At least you’re back now, I didn’t know you’d take this long. Harry said you’d get too cold and come back sooner,” Niall looked relieved as his blue eyes landed on us, I couldn’t help but smile at him as I joined the group.

Harry had gently pulled Olive over towards him, though that was no great surprise. I settled on sitting on a chair beside Liam, it was the only chair available not that I actually minded. Watching Olive give Harry an unimpressed look at what he had said was amusing to the rest of us.

“Next time we won’t stay away for as long, but if you had come with us then we wouldn’t have been missed.” I couldn’t help but smile at the blonde Irishman, the guys still looked a little tired and I had been expecting them to be sleeping or close to when Olive and I returned.

“Give it a rest, Niall. You’re overreacting, they weren’t even gone that long and you’re making us sound like shitty friends.” Louis spoke which I hadn’t been expecting, my eyes widened slightly from his comment.

It could have been from him feeling hung over still or it was the same reason why he acted coldly towards Olive, whatever the case was that still didn’t give him a reason to take it out on anyone.

“Then you’ll be glad that Niall is going to spend the rest of the day with us,” I didn’t know where it came from but if Louis was going to be in a mood, then he could take it elsewhere as today was meant to be fun and relaxing.

Feeling Liam’s arm wrap around my shoulders as he gave my shoulder a gentle but reassuring squeeze, that was before his fingertips brushed over the top of my arm in a soothingly stroke.

We all watched as Louis stood up from the armchair and walked out, Eleanor was quick to apologize before she followed after her boyfriend even if we had told her to stay.

“Well, we shall we do now? And don’t you guys say nothing, I didn’t come out here for nothing.” Perrie’s accented voice filled the room and I agreed with her, I wasn’t going to sit around and waste the day just because the guys had drank a little too much last night.
