I've Seen This World Burning for Too Long, Yet I'm the One Left Standing

So, once more I am awful at summaries. However this story is following a vampire turned nearly 2500 years ago, and is widely hailed as the first known vampire. Willow has no memory of her human life and has lived through the ages quietly and a big recluse really only coming out to hunt. 12 years ago she saved a boy and his family from getting mugged and this boy was Gerard Way. The prologue is her saving him and picks up 12 years later as Gerard is a rather reclusive artist who recalls the meeting with the vampire and refuses to believe that it was just a dream; what happens when they meet once more? Is it fate... Or something more sinister? Really I just wanted to see a strong female lead protecting a guy^^
