Underdog

The final bell rang and I hurried out of my class room so I could get the hell out of there. Of course the boys were waiting for me, I roll my eyes as I put unneeded books in the locker
"I won't be accepting a ride home, you guys know that, so why bother asking?" I ask slamming my locker shut turning to face them with my arms crossed over my chest and raising an eyebrow
"We know that's why me and Devin are going to walk home with you" Ricky states causing Chris and Ryan's heads to snap towards them with wide eyes, I weigh my options for a bit before nodding realizing I shouldn't be rude because they had a right to be curious about me, though I am not excusing Josh's behavior seeing as he even said he doesn't care about what I am.

We finally leave the school after Devin and Ricky had to have Josh and Ange hold Chris and Ryan back. I lit up my cig and inhaled as deep as possible before exhaling feeling myself relax
"Can I borrow your lighter please?" Ricky asks and I hand it to him, he hands it back when he's done, we continue walking in silence until curiosity gets the better of me and I have to ask
"So you both are fertiles?" they nod "And you guys are mated to Chris and Ryan?"
"Yeah, you didn't sense it?" Devin replies and I shake my head
"I can't sense those kind of things, I probably won't even feel a connection to my mate, we don't know yet because my kind is very rare" I admit quietly staring at the ground taking another drag
"Wow, so do you know if you're a fertile or dom? Because no offence I've been trying to figure it out"
"I'm both kind of I guess, I can be crazy strong like stronger but I can also be extremely weak"
"Will you be able to have children? You don't have to answer if you don't want to want to talk about it I'm just curious, seeing as you're my stepsister now kinda"
"We don't know yet" I say then add "I usually hate peoples curiosity and questions but I trust you two, so please don't break that" they promise they won't as we walk up to the house, I stomp out my cig and then we walk inside where my mother is walking downstairs
"How was school?" she asks walking into the kitchen, we follow her, the boys saying it was fine
"Fine I guess, I'm going to my room" I tell her and walk out of the kitchen bumping into Josh but ignoring it and going straight up to my room. The first thing I do is set up my stereo system, before I start unpacking, then plugging my iPod in and turning my music on the first song being Muther by letlive.

An hour later I'm in the middle of my favorite Bring Me The Horizon song Chasing Rainbows when someone knocks on my door causing me to grand and pause my music walking over to answer the door. I pull the door open and see Ryan and Angelo standing there smiling
"You have amazing music taste" Ryan says and I smile "Your mom told us to come get you for dinner" and just like that my smile disappears and I shake my head
"Tell her I'm fine and will eat later if I get hungry" I tell them causing Angelo to chuckle
"Your mom is really good, she said you'd say that and to not let you deny" I sigh walking to the railing across from my door where there is no wall and just opens up to look over the foyer
"I am not hungry mother" I say loud enough for her to hear and she walks out of the kitchen looking up at me "Please don't make me mom" I plead and she give me a look
"Nicolai you will come down here to eat with the rest of the house and you will make an effort to get along with everyone" she tells me about to walk back into the kitchen but I stop her
"They will all stare at me like the freak I am! They will all be asking me a bunch of questions I don't want to answer! Please don't make me embarrass myself like this" I plead one last time
"You are not a freak baby girl but of course they will be curious and ask questions, you can not blame them for that. No matter how long you procrastinate it you will eventually have to answer questions so you might as well get it over with now" she answers walking back into the kitchen and I sigh knowing I can't get out of this.

I answer everybody's during dinner with an attitude which earns me some glares from my mom but I don't care. We were almost done when I saw realization light up my moms face making me groan as she goes into the kitchen and coming back with a water bottle filled with my 'shake' she hands it to me and I get a bunch of stares as I open it and take a drink
"If you don't mind me asking, what is that?" Dennis asks and I blush looking in my lap knowing my mother is going to answer the question as if it doesn't make me look any weaker
"It's her 'shake' as we call it she has it nightly, it's a mixture of all human blood types or at least as many as we can get at the time, she may have fangs but because of her human side they are not very sharp so she can not hunt" she states smiling as if it'd perfectly normal
"Okay but why the need for so much and so many different types?" he continues
"Her body goes through blood extremely fast and she loses strength very quickly, we don't know why though" I am tired of hearing them talk as if I'm not there so I excuse myself and leave.

I climb into bed and go right to sleep and have confusing dreams of a faceless man whom I feel so much love for it borders hate.
