Cherry-Cola Jello Shots
From too strong to too watery, there seems to be a lot of room for error when making this easy to swallow treats, and with thousands of recipes floating around, it's hard to choose one that'll work well for you. Here's a couple of tried and true recipes that you may like. Bottoms up!
"Original" Jello Shots
- 6 oz of jello mix (any flavor you like)
- 2 cups of hot water
- 3/4 cups of ice cold water
- 1 1/4 cup of vodka (any brand you prefer)
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
In a large bowl, mix the boiled water with the Jell-O powder until well dissolved.
Add 3/4 cups of ice cold water and 1 1/4 chilled vodka. Mix well.
Pour mixture into small plastics cups (preferable without ridges).
Chill in the refrigerator for at least four hours.
Cherry-Cola Jello Shots
- 6 oz cherry jello mix
- 3 cups of cola
- 1/2 cup of rum (Bacardi Superior Rum)
- 1/2 cup of amaretto (Disaronna)
Bring 2 cups of cola to a boil.
In a large bowl, mix 2 cups of the boiled cola and Jell-O powder until well dissolved.
Add 1 cup of ice cold cola, 1/2 cup of chilled rum, and 1/2 cup of amaretto. Mix well.
Pour the mixture into small plastic cups (preferably without ridges).
Chill in the refrigerator for at least four hours.
Tips
- - If you'll have to transport the shots, you can buy small plastic cups with lids, like these.

- If you want your shots to slide out effortlessly, there's a couple of things you can do:
- Lightly spray the cup with non-flavored cooking spray. DO NOT overdo it and don't use any kind of flavored spray. Or apply the oil by spraying it on a piece of paper towel first and then wiping the inside of the cup with it.
- Before serving the shots, run a thin pairing knife around the the cup to loosen the jello.
