Chocolate Waffles

I love waffles and wanted to try something new, so I found this recipe and I just love it. It's easy and yummy, especially for a chocolate lover like me. I want to share it with all of you.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 tbsp of baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp of salt
  • 3/4 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tbsp of vanilla extract

Procedure:

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together. Set aside.
  2. Place the butter and chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl. Cook on High power for 1 minute, then stir.
  3. Continue to cook for 15 seconds at a time, stirring each time until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
  4. When the chocolate mixture is faily cool, stir in the milk, egg whites, and vanilla.
  5. Pour this into the dry ingredients and mix just until blended.
  6. Preheat the waffle iron and coat with cooking spray.
  7. Spoon the waffle batter onto the hot iron in desired amounts.
  8. Close and cook until the iron stops steaming and waffles are easy to remove.
  9. Repeat with remaining batter.

Note: This is good with melted peanut butter sauce drizzled over them. Also, bananas and strawberries are great on top. Enjoy!
