Fizzy Cranberry Lemonade
No doubt about it, lemonade is the official drink of the summer. But sometimes you need a new twist on an old favorite to keep things a little fresh. Here's simple cranberry lemonade spritzer that's guaranteed to quench your summer thirst.
What you'll need
* Online Measurement Converter for those who use the metric system.
- 1 can (12 oz) of frozen lemonade (I use Minute Maid's)
- 1 bottle (2 quarts) of cranberry juice cocktail (I use Ocean Spray's)
- 1 bottle (1 quart) of ginger ale or club soda or seltzer water (I use Canada Dry's cranberry ginger ale to turn up the cranberry flavor)
- 3 lemons, sliced
What you'll do
- Cut the lemons into quarter inch slices, and set aside for later.
- Take the frozen lemonade out of the freezer and let it thaw - if necessary, run the can under hot water for a minute or two (it's okay if there's a few frozen chunks left in it, they'll melt when you mix in all the ingredients).
- In a large punch bowl or pitcher, combine the can of lemonade and 8 cups of cranberry juice cocktail. Mix well.
- If serving right away, add 4 cups of ginger ale/club soda/seltzers and mix gently. If you won't be serving this drink right away, hold off on this step until you are ready to serve. You don't want to the lose the bubbly.
- Once the ginger ale is added, taste your punch. If needed (if the punch is too tart/sour for your liking), add sugar to taste.
- When ready to serve, fill large glasses halfway with ice. Place a lemon slice or two in each glass and then pour your drink over it.
Dunk in your straw and enjoy!
