Spaghetti

I love making Spaghetti and wish to share my way of making this dish with all of you.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of ground beef
  • 1 box of spaghetti pasta or any pasta you like
  • 1 16 oz can of diced tomatoes (I use Hunts, but any brand is fine.)
  • 1/2 a cup of diced mushroom (I use fresh, but canned will work.)
  • 1/2 a cup of diced onion
  • 1/2 a cup of diced bell pepper
  • 2/3 cup of ketchup
  • 1 16 oz can of tomato soup (I use Campbells.)
  • 1 regular size bottle of spaghetti sauce. (I use Ragu and Prego depending on what is in my cabinet.)
  • 3 tbsp dried italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tbsp dried sage
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 3 tbsp grated parmesan cheese

All of the seasonings can be changed to suit your own tastes.

Process

  1. Brown the ground beef until half of it is cooked then add the onion, mushrooms and bell peppers.
  2. Cook until the ground beef is cooked all the way and the vegetables are soft.
  3. Drain the mixture and then add the diced tomatoes. (I usually crush my tomatoes up in the pot with a potatoe masher, but you do not have to do this.)
  4. Add the seasonings, tomato soup, ketchup, cheese and sauce into the pot.
  5. Bring mixture to a boil, put on lid and lower the heat down to a simmer.
  6. Simmer for an thirty minutes to an hour.
  7. Cook the pasta before serving.

Note

This dish is perfect to serve up with my baked sausage meat balls. You can find the recipe already posted. Enjoy.
