11 Tips on How to Become a Better Writer - Comments

  • @ whomping willow.
Well I thought it was fine. I don't read articles that are too long and drawn out. I read it because I wanted a few tips, not a huge guide. It was just what I expected. However, opinions belong to each their own. People have their own writing and learning styles. What works for one person may not work for another. Short and to the point works for me.

I just don't see how they can be tips if they don't give any further information. Somebody who may not fully understand what the one or two sentences are per tip wouldn't get any benefit from this article, because there just isn't much input into it.

  • The title says "11 TIPS on How to Become a Better Writer" not "Extensive Guide to Becoming a Better Writer." Key word: "Tips."

I thought it was great. Sometimes wanting a few tips means you want a few tips. Not a full fledged writing tutorial that's daunting to read. A few sentences per tip are just enough. It says so in the title. These are all things writers need to understand to improve their writing. You got your point across without making it boring. Yes, it's fairly simple and most writers should already know this. But since this is a teen writing site, a lot of them don't. A few simple tips is a great way to get creative juices flowing.

Also, I've never heard of or used a writing prompt before. So I learned a few things too!

  • I personally really liked this tutorial.

  • Most of the tips are really old news and nothing new to really help anyone aside from the 'Reading Aloud' one, which actually helps.

  • I think this had potential to be a very great article, but I was disappointed with it. I have to disagree with the user before me who commented, because I would have liked to have more details and more instruction in this tutorial instead of one or two sentences for each tip.

  • I like how you made your tutorial short and very concise. One thing that I have to put in mind is my punctuation and my editing of work. These are one of the basic things a writer needs to know but takes for granted. In other words, I am very happy with this tutorial, and I am eager again to start writing. :)
