The school is completely over-reacting over a small gesture an excited kid made to his family and friends.
Sue him for being proud that he was on his way to college.
People do stupid things when they're happy and they're not arrested for most of them.

It would've been innapropriate if he blew kiss to I dunno, the teachers. But he didn't. The school was obviously over-reacting. Showing pride and showing love towards your family is not innapropriate. He shouldn't have gotten in trouble.

i just found this article, but everyday after the graduation, i went to school, and everyone would be talking about this. and it's only because i'm a student at Bonny Eagle. the sad thing is, we only make the news for something terrible like this incident, or our football team.

the actual reason was "misbehaviour"
i don't see blowing a kiss to a loved one as misbehaviour
the school is just being butt hurt over nothing
a public apology is needed.

That's the most ridiculous piece of news I've ever heard. Once that happened, everyone else should've started blowing kisses just to piss off the administrators. Friggin' ludicrous. What's with schools these days?

It's so ignorant to deny him his diploma just because of a kiss. Since when is it required to follow every rule before you can graduate? Jeez. At my brother's graduation this year, the valedictorian was slamming the school system because of the million dollar foothball field they purchased instead of investing in school books. Even they they were very displeased about, they didn't take his diploma away. Plus, he brought a puppet of Lamb Chop...and yes, she said a few words. Teenagers should be able to say whatever they want at their high school graduations, and should be able to do whatever they want (as long as it isn't harmful or illegal). It's their day.

I can't believe I didn't hear about this until now; I live in Maine.
But if that happens to anyone at my school, I'd be really upset.
