    so glad I got to see them live this year.

    To be honest though... I'm glad they're splitting up now. It's better than in like 20 years time they're releasing their 15th album and people are just like 'oh god, are those guys [i]still[/i] around?'

    so it is sad, but happy news...

    Coldplay has threatened to break up after every studio album they've put out.

    They're not breaking up, that was a quote (made back in November) that was taken out of context.Chris retracted it fairly sharply back in December, in Rolling Stone. You should have researched this article further instead of relying on one source.

    I'm not a huge fan, but it's sad to hear.
    A rather strange reason from Chris as to why they're breaking up :l

    But they are good friends with my favourite band, Muse, the lead singer of which is also 31. I just hope Chris doesn't spread his odd age related reasons for breaking up to them.

    I know I'm shocked.
    I've been a fan for a while now, and I really hope that they don't break up. I mean, in some sense I can see why they want to break up, touring and such can be rough, but come on. With all the success that they've had and all the fans they've got, they should stay together. I can understand if they've been having problems with eachother, but honestly? It's a pretty stupid thing to break up the band for.
