"Emo" died in the early 90's.

Nothing left exept a few teeny-boppers with a very vague idea of what it really is making very feeble attempts to reinforce this.

They try, fail and then.. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

A NEW GENERATION OF SHIT MUSIC, CUTTING CIRCLES, ATTENTION-SEEKING WHINY BASTERDS WHO CONSIDER DEPRESSION AS A FASHION LABLE IS BORN!

I like this one, but it has pieces taht make me want to yell and throw a fit. I do how ever completely agree with you on the subject of basicaly all music has emotinal content on it and i also do beilieve that teens are breakable.( Isn't it the point though? To grow strong?) I never think of emo like that, a cult I mean. To me it's a steoretype. I get made fun for listening to the bands i listen to and actually had people call me emo when all i knew it as was a label on the back of a cd case. I mean i read these articles and it does hurt to knwo these kkids are gulliable enuff to hurt themselves on command but i also beileive taht it will die down because evrything else has.

You know who your true friends are when you can truley be yourself.
True friends are hard to find. I spent all of my School life learning this. (I'm in 6th form now)
Thats why kids spend so long obsessing how to look and think and live. when you find your true friends, you dont care about ny of this. you start to enjoy life as you want to live it cuz none of your group want to manipulate you and they are with you as you are with them purely for the pleasure of the company.

I must agree
teenagers are all about 'monkey see, monkey do.' (don't get offended I'm not literally calling them monkeys)
They like to think since everyone else is doing it, they want to be them,

I love this article

I think your right, in a way. My chemical Romance is NOT emo. Neither is green day. Their are other types of music that are emotionaly powerfull. Take ballads for example, but that doesn't mean their emo. To me emo is bands like From First To Last, they are a hardcore band that has more emotional lyrics than other rock bands. As much as I hate the label emo, at least the kids like myself can finaly express ourselves and quit being phony and trying to fit into the popular crowd. By the way, I enjoyed reading an artical that was really well put together, good job.

I liked the article. But the sad thing is that, those who are actually depressed, get this stupid label.

The cutters who only do it to get attention, are what I consider "emo".

Unfortunately, people who are REALLY depressed get called this too, and it really doesn't help.

Emo is just what we in our mind created. It's nothing what you wrote up there, mind you, but it's a good article no doubt.
It's just what we classify as people and something we just made up as society.
I guess it's a necessary thing if you want to group people together, but oh so pointless.

Some bands that can be considered that way are, My Chemical Romance, Green Day, From First to Last, Senses Fail, Bring Me the Horizon, ect...

When it comes to bands, people get it all wrong. Some bands, like Green Day, are not 'emo bands.' Just because lyrics are powerful, and possibly slightly emotional, doesn't mean they are 'emo.' Green Day's lyrics send messages and tell stories, not make people cut themselves. I find certain songs by ANY band to make me emotional, but not to the point where I become depressed and want to slit my wrists over them. I don't think that what music you listen to should change whether you're 'emo' or not. Its not their fault, they just write the songs. No one said you had to listen to them. Most bands write for themselves, and its how they feel. Don't listen to them if they make you upset.

I want to show this to every asshole who has ever made fun of My Chemical Romance by calling them "emo". Considering that they like Tupac and by this definition his music is also emo.
Everyone cries.
