is this could happen to people who never suspected it then it could happen to anyone, I know it seems silly but I feel really bad for the murderer, if someone could do that then thet must have had a pretty bad life to be harboring those kind of emotions, but what about his family wouldn't they have noticed his actions? and why would he have access toa gun in the first place? I personally wouldn't let someone that age near a single weapon if they were acting oddly, and if he was acting oddly then someone should've been keeping an eye out for someothing he might do, I also feel really sorry for the kids at the school who had to be there and had to see therer classmates bleeding and dying because really after something like that happens you can never really be the same, you would always be peeking around corners for danger and you wouldn't feel safe anywhere any more, and especially the family of the kids who survived, imagine what they would have to go through to make that kid feel cmfortable out in public, scars like that can't be seen but they never go away

That kid...he must not have been right in the head. This is a tradgedy for all.

My love goes out to the families of the seventeen killed, including the family of the murderer. I'm sorry that they didn't have the love--or time to notice--and get the poor kid some help.

Such a tradgedy...

You cannot blame music for something like this. Definitely not. If music really had that big of an impact on people, there would be a lot more messed up people than there already is.

He was most likely insane. He probably did not care anymore what happened to himself or other people, and he most likely harbored a hate for everything and everyone involving that school. Hate is probably the most dangerous thing out there...

Just to say, what I wrote is easier said in person as it was mostly a joke and that did not transfer well. I was afriad that would happen.

I still want to go to Geramany though, just to visit...........Columnbine!

So firstly to the people who think others would blame music again, you're wrong. Music has never been mentioned concerning school shootings, something like music isn't "strong" enough to provoke something that horrible. Here (in Germany) we've talked about such things often, and the blame is mostly put on killer games (??), as well as the parents and school. But these cases are always individual cases and there are so many things that summed up to make these people do these shootings, banning one thing doesn't help at all.
And it's got nothing to do with a country being "americanized". You get these sort of things everywhere.

Terrifying news.
I just came home from school when I saw it on the news. At that time; it wasn't even clear what had happened, so my dad and I stayed closely by the television.
My heart goes out to the people that were involved. : [

I think it can happen anywhere. Where people are; is frustration and violence and in this time it is really not that hard anymore to get your hands on weapons that can set off major destruction.

I am not afraid to go to school, but it did surely cross my mind; what if someone at my school gets this idea into their head?
What if someone on my bus, on my train, in my street, in my mall, in my club etcetera does it..
I know I shouldn't think like that, but I do.

All we can do it hope that someone recognises this kind of blind frustration on time..

It is such a shame that someone would turn to doing this...Poor people...

Let's hope they don't blame it on music. The kid had problems. And apparently they were overlooked...

I read about this in the papers and it's awful to think about. My thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and families of those who were killed, but also to those who were there in that school, witnessing the shooting.

Draco_... - Germany isn't like that at all. Like said before, all you see is the bad news. Trust me, I currently live in Germany and although this has happened it is a very peaceful place. Each country has it's tragedies...it just happens that certain countries get more negative coverage than others.

Unicorn. What has Germany probably being more "Americanized" Than Finland got to do with anything?! Honestly! It doesn't make any difference. Like people keep saying, it can happen 'Anywhere' whether the country is less/more 'Americanized' or not.

IIt's a shame that things like this happen and it makes me wonder what drove him to do it.

We're not safe anywhere...anymore. =/

Until now, Erfurt was the worst, seventeen people died there too, not only twelve.

to Draco_Familiar, Germany is not that bad, I think it's quite a peaceful place. What people see on TV are just the bad things and not the good ones. These things happen in many places of the world, yesterday for example in Alabama, too. I like Germany, it's not as horrible as it might seem right now ;)
It's not like there's war and rampages in Germany all the time. Surely there are reasons why Tim K. did this, they might not make sense to us, but definitely to him.

It's a strange day today, nobody is talking about something else. I hope it won't get worse and nothing as worse as this happens soon again.

Okay, I've wanted to go to Germany for the longest time now, but I'm not to sure anymore....Eigther there's young adult psycopaths or there's somehow a reason (though I seriously doubt if it's any good) that would drive someone to do random rampages......Not to mention the anarchist rampages I've seen on BBC that Germany seems to be prone to......I was honestly looking forward to going! *puppy dog lip*

I feel sorry for the people who were killed and the parents of the students because when they brought their kids to school that morning they never expected this to happen to them.

We had an exchange student last semester from Germany (he left back home two or three months ago), and this makes me wonder why I never remembered where he was originally from. I hope this wasn't his school. Even if it could happen anywhere, doesn't make it any less of a tragedy.

I read comments on here about how "it could happen everywhere." Why do people think that now? Shouldn't the two shootings in Finland have made you think like that? I'm actually more surprised that it happened in Finland, than in Germany, because this "trend" (as dangerous as it is to call it that) started in the US. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Germany is more "Amaricanized" than Finland.

And what's worse, this will happen everywhere. Eventually, there's not going to be a country where there hasn't been a school shooting.

That's so sad, I feel bad for all of them. Even the shooter, he sounds like he had some bad problems.
