President May Get Internet 'Kill Switch' - Comments

Oh I think Hu Jintao got one of those ages ago, it was about time the US found a way to cut off what is perhaps the biggest medium of the mass media in the case of an "emergency". It's so efficient to try to shut down everything (despite the fact that not everything has a server in the US) instead of simply shutting down whatever areas of the Internet make senators nervous - the banking system, for example.

Giving this much power to anyone could end with disasterous consequences.
The thought that someone could cause a national crisis through the internet is frightening and entirely capable of happening.
