to be fair yeh its better kids have an idol to look upto who doesnt do some stuff, rather then following ones that do. but yeh they should still have an informed opinion. awsome for peeps if they are actually straightedge actually ridiculous to run amok trying to make it hardcore. thats just following a cult, giving into peer pressure in an ironic way. i hate it when ppl chat on about stuff they've got no clue over it, i stand by the tried and tested it rule. dont knock something until you try it and then relise its not for you. if you dont wanna try it, then dont chat on about it.
mind you 13/14 yr olds just annoy me anyway, cos so MANY of them are ignorant and arrogant. Its not even being steroetypical, its taking an average.
Sostarstruck, I'm sick of the Straight Edge fad, and how teens are using it to make themselves look 'cool'. If you're going to make decisions about alcohol and smoking, you should make them yourself. Don't let idols make them for you.
I may have misunderstood a tad, but does this mean that you think all 13 years old kids and under should not use the term straight edge? Or did you simply mean that they can use it, but in that case not because their idol uses the term?
I don't smoke or drink or anything like that, but I see where you're coming from. I love the last paragraph. Never heard that saying before- can I have your permission to use that with my friends?
