I disagree with people who are saying that the research is stupid and a waste. No type of research what-so-ever is a waste. They have been studying homosexuality since the 1970s, maybe even before that.

As I have said, no type of research is wasteful or stupid. Though this type of research is unnecessary, its not a waste.

I'm bisexual, and even now I get picked on. The gay kids at my school get picked on worse though, I think people need to be more accepting.

People who say that everyday more people are accepting gays, in my view, are wrong. They could be right, but with people committing crimes against gays for being gay, those "scared straight" camps (which most are run by Christian organizations) being built everywhere, people are so unacceping of gays soon it could be illegal.

Everyone likes who they like and there is something wrong with people saying no you can't like so and so just because they're the same gender.

I totally agree with this. Homosexuality isn't a disease and it never will be. It's not like the flu that comes and goes; It's not a phase. It's sad how today, in a world where so much is accepted, some people still can't accept homosexuals. Maybe there should be a LGBT movement, I mean, the civil rights movement worked for African Americans. Everybody is created equal. Peroid. It doesn't matter how you look, what language you speak, what your job is, whether you have a mansion, a humble adobe, a shack, or live on the streets. And for all the religious homophobes, the bible even says something like "God loves all his children" or whatever, I don't really remember. I don't even believe in God or anything anymore, but I doubt he's going to condemn someone just because they're gay. Think about this, would you rather see a serial killer sentenced to death, or see a person who's done absolutely nothing wrong get beaten to death because they're gay? I hope everyone says the serial killer because if anyone says the homosexual they should get a one way ticket to a mental facility!

I'm just sick of people coming up with completely invalid arguments for why homosexuality is wrong. Thank you for writing this I completely agree.

I don't remember where I read this quote at, but its one of my favoirtes. People need to stop acting like it's a disease. It souldn't matter who you love, as long as you love them. Homophobia pisses me off... Okay, I'm done ranting. XD

i swear if a doctor goes after my brother with a pair sccisors trying to experiments on him because he's gay the doctor is going to be stabbed multiple times! why are people so stupid? it's not a disease it's a part of some one's life! stupid homophobes!

you know what, if any doctor tries to "fix" me they are going to get their decapitated head steped on by elephants and then fed to hyenas. There is NOTHING wrong with being gay or bi or any other sexuality.

I agree with you a lot. I do know that it has something to do with how the brain works... but i know you can't change it. I remember when i was younger I tried to be straight and I failed miserablly...

But it's not so much doctors that bother me anymore. These religious factors spew things about it an abomination. But all religions stem from the same thing. And the most useful thing I was taught was "Love the sinner, not the sin" so even if it's a 'sin' i wish people would just accept us and not go out of their way to tell us how we're going to hell...

And people go out of their way to be mean as well. I'm with my first gf (and her parents cant know about us cause they'll send her to counseling and mine will disown me), but we were holding hands walking to a store when a group of boys in a car went out of their way to yell "queer" at us. I haven't held her hand in public since ._.

People are idiots if they think they can cure homosexuals. You can't change people for liking the same sex just like you can't change people from liking the opposite sex. Attraction is attraction.

This is my thoughts so don't yell. I don't have anything against religion but most of this is probably religious people wanting to think it is wrong to be gay. It is wrong to like the same sex because god says its a sin to like the same sex. Some people are soo into what religion says or how they are raise that they can't accept the fact that homosexuality is a part of someone like brown hair is part of someones genes. They can't accept it so they make it seem like a disease.
I have nothing against religion but some of the things they say and teach people I don't think is right. I believe in god people don't get me wrong but I believe it by my own rules.

Leave homosexuality alone seriously think of it as another way around. What is people think liking the opposite sex is wrong and its a disease would you like that. I just hate how stupid people can be. Get there damn heads out of their *ss and try to cure more important things like cancer and other serious sickness.

That's the same thing I was telling a friend! That's like me going to a therapist to change my skin color...I can't! That's who I am, that's apart of me. I find it stupid that people actually do these things! Why can't we accept people for who they are?? There's nothing wrong with it, it doesn't change who a person is.

I was watching Tyra Banks Show and they had a video of a "priest" exorcising on some gay male because they believed, a "gay" spirit had taken over his body and how being gay wasn't sinful, however committing homosexual behavior was sinful. It's gotten to a point where people are so uncomfortable with their OWN sexuality they have to bash on homosexuality. I was sent to a therapist who talked to me about my sexuality and It was nice to talk about it? I mean... I do agree to a certain degree that your sexuality is influenced on what influenced you as you grew up? Say your a male and you where closer to your mom? Your more likely to be more in touch with your femininity. However, to sit they're and waste time on something that shouldn't be viewed as a diseased. Instead of blaming AIDS on homosexuality.they should try to promote Gay Marriage because, of it's non existence in most states gay males don't wait it out, they don't remain abstinent? Which I'm not saying everyone does it but, instead of sitting they're w/ chemicals they should legalize gay marriage because, It would promote abstinence and, thus most likely reducing the AIDS virus...which is a greater issue than trying to make someone straight... just saying. In texas they're trying to pass an ACT that would make any sort of homosexual behavior and/or, oral/anal sex illegal and potential jail time. We should be putting a halt to the states taking away our rights as a citizen and rights as a human being, Not homosexuality.

Our country is corrupted... I hate it.

My mom tried to send me to one of those therapists to 'fix' me. My dad told her to hush. I don't understand it. You cant fix homosexuals. I love the entry. It's good.

Some people think it's a choice and to a certain degree it can be but you can't help who are attracted to or who you fall in love with. Why do they think people are scared to be free about their sexuality? Being prosecuted by others and now being treated like a disease is wrong! There is nothing wrong with falling in love with someone of the same gender, everyone should have the right to be happy with who they are and love who they want. Honestly, with all the time and money people will spend on medical school, and all they end up doing is studying homosexuality as if it's a disease? That's just pathetic. We're in the middle of a global recession and someone out there is funding this research that is completely unnecessary? Just, wow. That's all I can say.
