My thoughts exactly. I mean, it hasn't happened to me personally, but I've seen it enough to a point where I'm starting to want to avoid certain parts of mibba.

Yeah, I kind of feel like a Mibba war is about to happen, and I don't know what to do. lol

    @ luminos.
It's kind of like someone forcing their religious beliefs on you.

I think if people weren't coming at me yelling about how I'm ignorant for not believing the same things as them, I might take a little more kindly to it. But, with the way it's being done, I don't see any progress being done on the topic. It's just holding it back, really, because no one wants to be yelled and screamed out until they're forced to think the same way as someone else.

I agree with this. I do agree that slut-shaming is bad, but I think the way it's being handled on Mibba right now is being done with so much hostility, that it's getting very aggravating in a way.

    It's a derogatory, dehumanizing term. That's why.

    @ dru vs. slut shaming
If they don't have the right to pass judgement on other's sex lives, why do you have the right to pass judgement on their judgements? It's the same thing, really.

It's a huge thing in the media now.
I don't think anybody is targeting on mibba, but some people are careless with their use of the word, and since it's sensitive, it creates discussion.

I just think it's just important to be skeptical of using the term "slut" in cases of rape; it dehumanizes the victim and makes it look like they were sinning more than the rapist. I think that's the most important part of slut shaming prevention.

Imagine that you have a fifteen year old sister who just decided to go all the way with her boyfriend of a year for the first time and she's feeling a little emotional about it. She comes on Mibba and reads a post about how teenagers who have sex are all sluts. She hates herself, thinks she's a whore, and it ends up making her hate herself until she's in her twenties.

That is the damage slut shaming does.

People don't have the right to pass judgment on others sex lives. It's none of your business. Butt out.

I've read and seen "slut" so many times, it doesn't even seem like a real word.
It's foreign to me now, I'm like.. "What is that?" XD

Exactly. It very hostile now and I don't like it in one bit. All of it on the matter of opinions too. Doesn't make sense. However I don't think anyone should be shamed, but I not seeing that on Mibba. I really don't see it.

People like to have trendy topics to be irate about. I think adding "shaming" on to the end of a word makes it a huge issue. Next week we'll go back to fat shaming.
