    Economical space travel.

I'm talking people who want to go to space, average people. Even though the whole process barely lasts three minutes, it would be the best three minutes of your life. I imagine you'd float around in the shuttle for a bit, or maybe dock at the station, then it's back down to Earth again. But they would have to find a way to make it much cheaper, find a better fuel source. Because right now, as it is, it costs so many thousands of dollars per pound of weight to get things up through the atmosphere.

Wouldn't that just be fantastic, though?

I've been looking into this a lot. It seems like there are some pretty solid ideas circulating around right now.

I thought they were actually pretty close?
Well. Close to succeeding with mice, at least.

I think they're already working on mice (two girls atleast are working).
But ya, I read this thing for sterile men where they take some of your stem cells and turn them into sperms (for guys who don't have/have enough of em) so I think they could use that for gay people right? Make a girl produce a sperm call or a guy produce an egg (though I dunno if the latter would work).

^I believe they're also trying to make an artificial womb, and are currently working with mice.

    It's so neat.

    Elegant Rubble:
Everytime your DNA replicates the telomeres, which are the ends of the chromosomes get shorter. The theory is that if we can find some way to prevent this then we can slow aging
The only problem with that is that interfering with telomeres and telomerase's activity is that it can lead to cancer.

Personally, I'd rather get old than have cancer.

    These, first and foremost.

Secondly, I'd like there to be a significant advance in the research and studies into abiogenesis. I find it fascinating, and it's a shame that it's not easily researchable at this time.

That is neat, that could really make a lot of people's lives better (though the working with mice kind of bothers me - hopefully they're being humane). I did read something that bummed me out though, in order for a created sperm cell to mature fully it needs a Y chromosome. Sad

More study and information to be found about non-straight individuals (and not just gay men), as well as on transgendered individuals (again, not just men or FtM in this case).
