I review if I liked something I read, feel constructive critisisum is needed, or they have a ton of grammar/spelling mistakes. I don't comment every chapter I read, either.

I only comment if I feel I can say something intelligent about the story, or to let the author know how it made me feel.
    Otherwise no.

Plus I rarely read lately. :shifty

I always comment a story, because I feel it's important to tell the author what you think. Of course, if I give critcism or feedback it would be in the form of a message.

    Same, on both parts.
I don't read much on Mibba anymore, because I dig the stuff on LJ. :XD

I don't really comment stories that often, especially ones that have say, fifteen chapters. I'm not sure why. I don't comment stories I adore, either. I think I'll start trying to comment from now on, or at least more often.

I only comment a story if I really like it. If I'm subscribed to a story but I think it isn't that good, I won't comment, but I stay subscribed because I HAVE to know the ending.
There are only a few stories a actually comment every update, but if it's not a good update, then I probably won't.

When I comment I like to give some sort of feedback, and I can't do that if I don't like the story, so I only comment stories I really feel passionate about.

I try to comment as much as possible. Or if I actually have something that I would like to say.

I try to comment a lot, but usually I only do it if it was really good, okay, or terrible. Most of the time I comment when I'm confused.

What Sam said :con: If I don't like the story, I won't comment on it. I know a comment may help the writer to improve, but sometimes you see a story that's full of errors and a cliche-like plot and it just takes away your interest in actually living some con-crit, because you know you might be too harsh on it and sometimes authors don't take criticism very well.

If it’s a story that made me go :cheese: then I always, always, always leave a lengthy comment telling the author what I liked, and what I thought. I won’t bother if I didn’t like the story that much or if there isn’t anything much to say about it.

When people ask me to read their story though, I usually promise a comment before I read it, so even if I wasn’t that struck by the story, I still make an effort to pick out what I did like and write out a long comment. I know that I always love getting lengthy feedback, and so I try to give them some too.

I mostly read stories written by my friends because I don't read much on here anymore so I don't go actively looking for other stories. I'm usually too busy writing my own stuff. But even when I've read a new chapter of someone's story, I'll try to comment - at least try to find something to say about it - even if it was kind of a filler-ish chapter or not exactly my favourite so far.

As for stories I come across on my own, I'll leave a comment only if it gets a major reaction out of me. Then I'll definitely tell the reader how I felt about it whilst reading.

But if I come across a story that's basically riddled with errors, and I see that the story has no comments, it makes me want to at least comment and tell the writer the reason they might not have comments and ways to improve. Though the errors are usually so major (i.e. paragraphs running together, a bunch of spelling or punctuation errors, a poor story line) that I feel I'd just I would be attacking them because it's so bad.

I know how good it feels to get recognition and feedback from updates, so I try to comment on each story I'm subscribed to as much as possible.
But if an author starts begging for comments or threatening to cease updates because of "lack of comments," I stop.
    I find that really irritating.
It's like people are writing whatever they want just to get more and more comments.
If it's good, people will comment. You don't have to beg them to do it.

I try to comment often, or at least once to each author I read. Comments makes me happy so they should make other writers happy too right :D

Oh I try to as best I can But if I truly can not find anything I like to comment on I won't because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

I comment... sometimes. I sometimes don't comment every time I read something unless I'm following the story or I really like it. If I read the story and don't like it I don't bother with a comment.

I comment on stories that I like but if the writer is holding the next chapter for ransom, then no I don't comment. Even if I do like the story a lot and the writer has in the author's note 15 comments or no update! then it just turns me off from wanting to comment and sometimes turns me off from reading the rest of the story. I only comment if I have the time and believe I actually have something worthwhile to say about the story.
    This, basically.
