I try to. I mean, so far the only stories I've really read are stories people have asked me to read, aside from one which was incredible by maniac. and I just had to comment. *shrug*

I definately comment on things that I am subscribed to, but if I read through a chapter and find that I don't particularly like it, I won't leave a comment.

It depends on if I like it or not.
Usually I'll comment if the writing is amazing or really bad. I'll suggest a few things the writer could work on.
But if I feel the chapter I'm reading was mediocre or uninteresting, I usually won't comment - unless it's something I've bookmarked. Then I always comment lol.

I usually only comment if I have something to say that I think would be beneficial to the writer. I don't know about the rest of you, but getting the comments that just say, "Great job, update soon," are just kind of...eh, so if I can't think of anything to say except that, I just won't. Not that I can honestly say I read much on this site, anyway, though on the rare occasion I do my point still stands.
I'm the same way, and I agree.

No, I don't comment on everything that I read. In fact, I rarely comment on anything unless I have a very strong opinion on the story. It's because I don't want to post just short 'Good job! Update soon!' comment just for the sake of commenting. I want my comments to be meaningful.

I'll only comment if I feel like I have something worthwhile to say, so usually it's only on stories that I think are absolutely incredible, and sometimes not even on those.

Of course, I don't read a lot, so it's not that hard.

I comment what I was thinking during the story, but it'll usually be short. If it's something amazing, I leave a long comment. And if it's really, really horrible, then I don't comment because I don't trust myself enough to be nice about critizism XD

I almost always comment on every story I read, I like commenting and lettin Poole know that they're story is good and they should keep writing. Even if I don't like it I tell them things that can do to change it. I a firm believer in possitive and constructive feedback. (:

Also, could people read my story please? It'd mean a lot to me. (: Please and thank you. (:

I don't really read much on here but when ever I read a story I comment (unless I disliked it, I don't wanna be rude or anything). I prefer giving longer comments or reviews but I know that personally, just a "wow, this was great! keep writting!" is better than nothing and it's always nice to see that 1) people ARE reading what you've worked hard on and 2) it doesn't suck. tehe

As of late, yes. Because I pretty much only read for threads on the forum. I actually delay reading a story if I know I'm too tired to comment or won't have the time.

I try to comment on everything I read, but there have been times when I stop reading something in the middle of reading it and it doesn't get commented >.> This happens especially when my net crashes -.-'

Well, I comment the majority of the time :)
If it is a story that I have subscribed to, I will comment once to show how much I like it :)
If it is amazing and a true work of art (in my eyes), I comment every update//every two updates!
If I have subscribed to it because I am interested in the ending but it is quite mediocre, I wont comment.

If I complete read something to the end, I comment it. If I liked it enough to read it through, then I probably enjoyed it and if I did, then I definitely want to let the reader know and give any encouragement I can.

I don't read that much, really. But if I'm reading a friend's story or comment swapping (which I am not doing at the moment), I'll comment. I rarely comment on stories that people send me too on the journals or the ones I find on the stories section. Facepalm

I comment on everything I read, that way I can let the author know what I think about his/her story and infrom the author if there are any grammatical errors or if anything is spelled wrong.

I read a lot. I always do comment on everything I read except when I stop halfway through the story. In other words, I comment on everything that I find interesting and when I do, it's a hell lot of rambling.

I don't read THAT much on here, but if something grabs my attention, meaning if it grabs me so much that I read more than one chapter of it, then I'll comment. I usually try to give a good point and somewhere to improve, but sometimes I just give a simple and short comment. As an active writer myself, I know how annoying it can sometimes be when you get no feedback. With no feedback, I don't know if the story is good or bad, or if people are liking it or not.

I never hold chapters to ransom though. I never have done, and I never will.
