I'm glad I'm not the only one who favors Rory a lot. tehe Did anyone else find him dead sexy in those glasses? (and when the Doctor said the thing about "who's that handsome, man?" I swear I died for a second.)
Karen wins forever at acting for that episode. It was so amazing how she made the older version of Amy such a developed character, like she was still Amy, but she was a very different Amy. Simply amazing. In Love

^ The ventriloquist dummies were terrifying.

I think that the best part of the whole episode was this:

I laughed so hard at that.

I didn't like this episode as much as the one on the 10th. I liked how the plot panned out, but I didn't like how it ended. It didn't feel... complete. So many things this series haven't been explained as well as they could have been. I'm losing faith in Moff, and that makes me sad.

    Sorry

I like to think Moffat and TPTB will surprise us in the end and provide a good explanation for everything, but yes, time is running out, with only two episodes left in the series.

And since I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed series 7 will be late next year, it would be extremely cruel to leave with more than a few loose ends.

This series is making me dig my nails into my palms both in frustration with the storyline and to retain the tears. But it's in vain. I can't help it. Doctor Who is the show to make me cry the most. Ever. No competition.

I'm still trying to maintain faith in the Moff, but now that you guys mention it...damn he's got a deep hole to write himself out of somehow. I hope he doesn't resort to any low trickery or -gasp- bad writing techniques to do it.
Still, faith in the Moff. I think he'll deliver one way or the other.

On a somewhat different note, I'm really excited about the next episode! Crazy

(Sorry if this is being intrusive, but...)

Concerning Moffat, I think that he's a wonderfully talented writer, although the way things look now, it almost seems that he bit off a bit more than one is even capable of chewing...I'm really interested to see how he ties up the series.

I didn't have the chance to see the last episode (damn my not being at my Dad's where I get BBC), so, what happened? Some of my friends told me that the Doctor said goodbye to Amy...I feel so out of it. Did he? And aren't the Ponds confirmed for the next series?

Ugh. I'm so distressed. I've had no time to catch up.

Yeah, he dropped them off back at home because he realized that he had sort of been travelling with them just to impress them and for them to admire him and mostly because he remembered what tends to happen to his companions, so in short he felt bad and wanted to protect them from a potentially grisly fate somewhere down the line.
I do think he'll come back for them and adventure with them more though. It just didn't have a permanent goodbye vibe to it to me, plus like you said I'm pretty sure they are confirmed to do more so... yeah.
That's the basic need to know from that ep for you I think. I hope you can catch it sometime soon though because it was pretty great. (as usual.)

Ah! Thank you so much for all the catching up <3

I have a very bittersweet feeling about the Ponds, I guess. I mean, I love them oh so very much, but it's just...I miss the Doctor having different companions all the time, I guess; and I know it's a broken record statement for me to say so, but I guess it's just how I think. I mean, David Tennant had Rose, Martha, and Donna, and thus far, Smith has stuck with AmyandRory. It's not as if I hope that we'll never see them again, because I love it when the Doctor visits his old companions (like when Sarah Jane came back) but I suppose I just want to see Matt Smith interact with some new long-term characters.

I don't think it's a truly fair comparison. There are Doctors from the old series that have had only two or less companions (Yes, McCoy, I'm looking at you.) and some companions stay on for ages. It can be a bit annoying when you don't see many new faces but then I'd suggest that Craig is a bit of a companion as is River.

I'd just like to get more people in the TARDIS, period. He used to have big gangs of people (and robots...) and now...not so much.

...I think I made sense I might have not. XD

Craig is really awesome, today's episode was really sweet although parts of it were really cheesy and a bit repetitive. I hope he'll come back to the show as a companion again though I doubt it. I dunno, I just don't feel like this season had that many episodes that wowed you. Sure, there were a ton of improbable plot-twists and there were notable exceptions such as The Doctor's Wife, but beside those most of the episodes just felt like fillers meant to prepare you for a big climax that never came. My expectations for the finale are not immensely high.

Nah, made perfect sense! You make a very good point. And I suppose everyone always compares Ten and Eleven, which isn't fair, either.

I agree with more people on the TARDIS. I always love their initial reactions :')

Ugh, I need to watch more old Who. My brother has been yelling at me for ages.

Also, noooo, now I have to wait another six hours to see the new one that was on today. /Falling behind Sad

Also, I completely agree with kafka. I feel like with this season they just...I don't know, I feel they tried to hard to be over dramatic with all of these enigmatic plot twists and characters that don't really get resolved. It's been a rather frustrating ride, and I hope we get some closure soon.

Craig is like Wilf...or what happened to Martha after Series Three or even Harkness. Here and there, now and then. I doubt he'd sign up for a full series but it would make a nice change really. XD Even if I despise everything else James Corden does, he's not bad as Craig.

It has been an odd series, yeah. I think also because they keep ramping up the anticipation and the plot twists and everything and the gap...it can be very, very difficult to live up to that expectation. It's rather like a whole series of The Stolen Earth and Journey's End. So much built up and...well...nowhere really. I really hope he doesn't have some cockamanie reason behind all this. But honestly? It won't come all out in one episode. It can't possibly resolve everything. Hell, we still haven't quite resolved what's happened in the Series Five finale.

Still...there is hope for the next series and hopefully we can tie up the loose ends and such.

On a similar note, I want a Madam Vastra and Jenny spinoff since Torchwood has been ekifhlreblufdliyufhbvsi; ufdh-ified once again and the SJA are no more (you can't replace her).

I mean, who wouldn't watch a show about a lovely Silurian lady and her companion kicking arse and eating serial killers in Victorian London?

Sure as hell sounds more fun that any other given costume drama.

So, what do you guys think of the finale?

I actually liked it and I feel like I'm in a minority because of it. I mean, some of the so-called plot holes make sense to me so maybe it's because I'm not thinking hard enough.

And I still love River Song. She's still less annoying than Rose who was intolerable during S2.

I mean, it wasn't a deux ex machina, the Tesselector thing made sense and the regeneration and everything and those skull things give me the absolute creeps. It has it's faults but I just don't think it's as bad as some are making out. It still makes a lot more sense than the 1996 movie.

    ^ I agree. :)
I loved it, some brilliant moments in the episode and I think, personally, that it has answered the whole storyline or the series, while still leaving a few things unanswered for future storylines. If that makes sense? Definitely can't wait for the Christmas episode and the new series.

Has everyone heard about the Beeb cancelling DW Confidential? :( I'm gutted, I love watching Confidential, but there's a petition going around on Twitter to hopefully change the Beeb's minds. If everyone could sign it, it would be great :) http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/savedwc

    p.s your theme is beautiful.

/\ I agree with both the posts above - I really liked it. I liked the way they left it on a bit of a cliffhanger, and the whole thing about 'the question' is definitely a good thread for the next series, and I'm really glad that Amy and Rory came back into it.

The funniest part about watching that episode for me was my dad: about thirty seconds after River and the Doctor got married, they were talking about the Doctor's secret, and my dad looked at me, deadly serious, and said "I bet the secret is that the doctor and River are married," as though he'd just solved some kind of intricate mystery. Smile
I don't think he was paying very close attention to what had been going on - like, the fact that we'd all found that out about a minute before. :D
