I heard that some school nurses actually had stock of it to hand out to girls who asked.
My school isn't even allowed to stock over-the-counter pain medication.
Really? At mine students <technically> aren't allowed to carry meds around <but they /me/ do> but the nurse has heaps of stuff .. just, she has to deem it necessary in each case. *shrug*
Different countries have different rules for that kind of stuff. It just depends on where you live.

i think, that if the pill had a lower age, then people might...abuse it?!
as in, instead of using it as a last resort [if they think they could be pregnant because the condom broke, etc]
they will just be using it because its readily there.

idk if that makes sense, i know what i mean/what i want to say, i just cant find the words...

I do agree with you about being able to just walk into a drugstore and buy this pill but just look at over-the-counter drugs have done to our youth today. I've been in that scene and it is bad. Friends getting high on their parents Bayer head ache pills and others like tylenol. I'm not an expert on this and say that kids are going use this to get high or if its even possible. What if they become so reliant on this drug that they start having unprotected sex here and there...contracing an STD or AIDs?
This is very useful for those girls that have unprotected sex. I think what needs to change is the trust between mothers and daugthers. They shouldn't be so judgmental about a honest mistake that any human being can make. Of course, there should be conscequences.

Honestly, what's wrong with using MAP as birth control?
We have birth control and nobody whines about people using that.
As long as they're thinking about it, what's the big fucking deal?

I've heard of something called Levanol OneStep which is an emergency contraception. Depending on where you live in the world, I'm not sure if it's available everywhere, but I'm pretty sure that you can buy it under the age of 18 without a prescription. According to my friend , she bought it for herself and she is 16, so I'm not sure whether that's because the legal age to buy it is 16, or if you can but it whatever age. The law over here in the UK states that nobody should be having sexual intercourse under the age of 16, but because people do not always follow that rule (and the government know too damn well), teenagers should be able to buy it without having a prescription. They should all be saying "at least that person was responsible enough to purchase the emergency contraceptive, lessening their chances of becoming pregnant than pretending like nothing had happened", not "people shouldn't be having sexual intercourse at a younger age, it is against the law, so therefore the emergency contraceptive should not need to be sold to younger teenagers". At the end of the day, some kids nowadays would prefer telling their parents about this sort of thing, because they are afraid of them being dissapointed, and some parents nowadays could go to the extreme by kicking them out of the house. The abortion law is just as bad, because what the hell are these poor, lost kids going to do with themselves if they realise that they are pregnant and don't have anything to do except tell their parents? In my opinion, the abortion law and the ability to buy emergency contraceptive age should be lowered to at least 14.

I've read that it can have some serious side effects. And it's not 100% safe.
If you take it on a regular basis you can end up messing with your hormones since it contains a high dose of steroid hormone progesterone.

I still think it's a good thing teens are preventing pregnancy.
It might fuck them up now, but so could a baby.

I agree on using it in the case of an emergency. But regularly it can be dangerous, people shouldn't rely on it. There are far better [safer] ways of preventing pregnancy.

    a) It doesn't or else this wouldn't be an issue.
    b) Ever heard of a condom?

Yeah , Sex was put on this earth to reproduce, not for pleasure. If you're not willing to get pregnant don't do it. I just think people are throwing it around like it's nothing serious. IT IS. But see , we have COMPLETELY diffrent opinions.

Then why did god give women a clitoris which serves no purpose other than pleasure?

It's meant to be pleasuring so we'll do it a lot, thus procreate a lot.
    Evolution.

    Eh, don't buy it.
Sex is for both pleasure and procreation.

I don't think that's true. My friend had unprotected sex and I bought the morning after pill for her. I just went to a chemist filled out a form with her details and paid the money. I am only fourteen and I was in school uniform at the time. I think you should be able to get a hold of it.

It's the law. Whether or not the pharmacist broke the law to give you the MAP is completely different.

I was 19 when I got it for my sister's friend and I was carded.

I think it's an emergency measure.

Rape victims and failed contraception safety measures.

    not

an Abortion pill, scientifically speaking, OR a method of contraception.

Maybe it's different in other countries.

I would have used it after I got drunk and had unprotected sex, except I was stupid enough to think that I couldn't get pregnant on my period. By the time I found out otherwise, it had been over 72 hours. But I should have used it.
