I love writing neurotic and laid back characters (not at the same time, of course). I just think it's fun to write a character that freaks over the weirdest things and I love characters that are nonchalant in situations where they should probably be a bit worried.

    Het.
    Romance.
    First kisses.
    Fics set in the past.
War fics. I don't write them enough, though.
    Anything bittersweet.
    Just...romantic moments.

And then there's certain characters I love to write. x]

Band fan fiction with the characters possibly based off of real musicians from the past.

And honestly, I enjoy writing couples who tease each other, or otherwise, don't necessarily need to act fluffy and totally nice around each other. They know each other too well and therefore and can act as vulgar or as open as they wish. Most of the time this involves them being openly and casually naked around each other, pointing out each other's flaws right to their faces, etc. But at the end of the day, they love each other, no matter how mean they may act towards each other.

I also love writing characters with snarky, blunt attitudes. I find overtly happy, cute attitudes to become tiring after a while, so I love writing characters who aren't afraid to be blunt and somewhat bitter.

    Davey Havok.:
Superduper amounts of metaphors in prose.
    First-person narratives.
    Sarcasm.
    Stream of consciousness.
Connecting words together (i.e. onetwothreefourfive; justlikethat)
    Depression
    Suicide
    Pure, honest-to-god love
    Tonstonstons of imagery
    Human suffering
    Slash
    Dialogue

:shifty I've been told I'm good with the prose and imagery and dialogue. So it makes me happy that I'm good at what I like.
    Oh, and also:

Dramatic scenes. Not drama, but dramatic.
    Emotional stuff.
Stuff that wretches at your heartstrings.

I love writing about drugs. I don't think I have a story where marijuana isn't mentioned... maybe it's because I'm a stoner myself, but I don't know. I just love making my characters stoners. And I love getting them into the more hardcore drugs, especially when it's not a huge deal. Like, it's a not a controversy or anything, it just...happens. They do it, and sometimes it's a big deal, sometimes it's not. It all depends on the story, but...I really love drugs. ...Writing them, that is ;D.

    Slash.
    Angst.
    McFly fics.
Mild smut/romance - kisses, build up to sex etc.
Awkward characters, or interactions between totally different characters.
1st person that sounds intelligent (though I've only tried this once and don't know if I've pulled it off).
Adding humour to things - I can only do it rarely but I love the challenge of adding it if the story calls for it.

I love re-writing movies or books. For example, Dead Poets Society and The Chronicles of Narnia. They're so much fun to play around with plot-wise. And I love the characters to death. In Love

I love throwing in references to movies or television shows. I know that I've made references to The Office, The OC, Sex and the City, Dawson's Creek, Friends, and a number of movies, whether it's just the characters in the story watching it or talking about it, or making a comparison with the storylines, etc. etc. I've very recently come to realize how often I do this and how much I like doing it.

I like writing banter between friends.
I like to write teasing, the sexual kind, though I am clearly writing outside my knowledge with that.

I like to to write thoughts. The character's silly, sarcastic, bored, happy, jealous, whatever thoughts.

I love writing about places I know. Even if I romanticise and fictionalise it slightly, it feels... like I'm walking around in this place and seeing my characters. I feel I can make the location a character. I can never seem to do that with fictional locations (except Hell, in this thing I'm not posting yet). I really want to write a story set in my hometown. I'm going to create a story just so I can set it in my hometown. I might not even mention the name, but there's some awesome locations, attitudes, atmospheres etc I could use.
