I did the 'emo' thing too, when I was about 13. The main problem was that I was really, really bad at it - I basically thought that if I wore black, I was an emo. So I just wore these black skinny jeans all the time, and then basically any dark coloured top, even if it wasn't very nice, or was really plain, or was too baggy or something. I just thought that as long as it was a dark colour, it made me look emo. Oh, and I had no skill in putting on eyeliner whatsoever, but I still insisted on wearing it every day.

    @ amaranthine.
OMG I was the same way. I would wear t-shirts and skinny jeans everyday and I thought I was so cool when I bought a DC hoodie and checkered Vans. To make it worse, I would write things like "LOVE" and "RAWR" on my hands and I would play my bad screamo on my iPod loud enough for people to hear. Like, wtf was I thinking?

    @ depression.
I had a similar experience. I dyed my hair with a color called "silver", and my hair turned blue, gray, and green.

My bad fashion experience was with my aunt.
    |First of all she has all boys but thinks she knows everything about girls.
she got me this big, puffy neon green hat covered in sequens. She got my sister a pink one to match. Then she made us wear it with her... I felt so embarassed because I didn't want to hurt her feelings. So I gave it to my little cousin, and apparently she loved it.

    Oh, dear God.

I bought this Indian looking shirt from Forever21 last year and everyone liked it. The bottom was like, stringy, you know? Like on indian moccasins? It looked like someone had cut it into a ton of strings, and on the front it had this blue and red symmetrical design. It seriously was cute, and I liked it, and believe me, I'm very picky about my clothes. You know I liked it if I left the house in it.

I got compliments on it all day, and then I got to my last block class and this boy, S, wouldn't quit making pow-wow noises at me. All. through. class. I was so pissed. I had had a lot of problems with him over the years and I was kinda sick that day and I mean God, why did he care so much what I wore? I got up and went back to his seat after warning him he was gonna get it if he didn't shut up - which he didn't - pulled my hand back, made a fist, and it would have connected if the kid in front of him hadn't of grabbed my fist. He looked at me and said "Brooke, you don't want to do that." We were good friends. I DID wanna do it.

But I left class and went home. It just pissed me off so bad that he wouldn't shut up. I haven't worn that shirt since because I feel like it's gonna cause drama if I see him in it.

    That was a bad experience.

My entire freshman year of high school was my worst fashion experience. Facepalm

I still like wearing surf shorts, but dear god, at least now I realize which tops match with which bottoms and that headbands are not necessary every single day.

Dyeing my hair black (aka right now lol)
Oh my god. 8th grade graduation. I wore the ugliest dress and too-high-for-8th-grade heels.
In 9th grade I literally wore one sweatshirt every day, too tight skinny jeans, and band tees with skate shoes.
In 10th I wore the same thing except changed the shoes to indoor soccer shoes.
11th was essentially the same, but I started to change my shoes up.
Currently I'm doing better, but now that it's winter and I'm sick of being in school after being accepted into college I throw on some leggings, a sweatshirt and uggs or moccasins.

My great grandma once bought me the “shape ups” from sketchers back in 2010 or 2011 when I was a tenth grader in High School. I didn’t have the heart to tell her I didn’t like them. But I wore them a few times and got laughed at. But that is because I’m not a fashionista and didn’t know how to style them. Now, in 2017 and 2018, I see tons of fashion bloggers wearing “shape ups” (aka “platform” sneakers). And I showed a picture of one of them to my great grandma and said, “Remember that time when...”. Those used to be the most unpopular shoes when I was coming up in High School, but now teenage girls WANT to wear them in today’s times. That just let me know that fashion and beauty is all about perception as well as CONFIDENCE lmbo No one can ever tell you what to wear or do or what not to wear or do. Because it’s all about how you choose to rock it.
