  • I love singing, but I don't sing in front of other people because I failXP
That's why I'ma gonna do singing this year (Happy New Year for all those in America; for all those in Australia and everywhere else, Happy New Year for yesterday)

  • I love singing, i aslo have pretty good voice, but I really can't sing high notes. I have pretty low-range singing voice for a girl, for this reason I can't be in any choir or so, and I hate singning classes, because they make you sing songs you don't like. So I limit myself on singing everywhere and annoying everybody with it :)

Psh, you can so be in a choir! Chances are you can sing higher than you think you can, you just haven't learned to do it properly. Yes

Also, speaking EXTREMELY generally, there are four voice parts: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. Soprano being the highest voice, and bass being the lowest. There are also little things in-between (mezzo soprano, countertenor, etc) so I'm sure you'd find a place in a choir if you wanted to.

(Sorry if you knew all that already...I'm a choir nerd. In Love)

  • Yeah, I kinda already knew this. But, you see, I don't really belong in any voice :D I guess alo would be the best, but I can sing also very high notes.. But nothin in between. Besides, I don't really like choirs, because they make you sing stuff you don't like (yeah, the same than with singing classes). Well, there is a really cool choir in our town now, it's a jazz choir, but here comes my unluckyness.. It's a school choir, and it is school choir of a school I don't go to. Huh.. There are like TWO schools in our town. And I have to end up in the one with a sucky music teacher.. Oh well.

  • err... lets see...
I can sing basically any part..? I can do Soprano to Bass no problem, but I never really get to enjoy my singing without:
    a) making an ass of myself for actually getting into the music and hitting notes really loudly or
    b) singing totally great songs in front of the 'popular kids' who think the song AND my singing sucks while singing along to Justin Bieber and getting all the solos since people always vote for them to get the best parts....
Either way, it sucks on my self-esteem sometimes, and I tend to resort to singing in my room or in the shower:P

  • Took lessons for 6 years, now I'm in the tragedy of a band called "Action Slacks" tha name is obviously subject to change if we actually DO something with it. Right now we just screw around in my best friend's basement, but nothing big so far. I'm told constantly that I should go somewhere with my "talent" and tons of people ask me to leave my band and join theirs. I like the anonymity of performing in a basement for my friend's pets.

  • Singing seems to be a way for me to vent my emotions. I just love getting lost in a song while singing. It's one of the best feelings ever.

    Any part?
What's your vocal range/how many octaves do you have because that is so rare, I'm having a hard time believing it. I have five and I can sing Soprano-Tenor.
Having five octaves is extremely rare itself, and I can't even sing all four sections. So I'd really like to know how you can manage all four.

Thats neat^^ LOL. My... 'choir-master'..? Never really told us how many octaves we could do, and since its a school choir its highly probable that our range isn't as huge as the state ones.
All I know is that all the parts that people sang in a song called "Domini Fili", I could cover. Not bothered to check how many octaves... But its from Bass cleft A - High G...
shit. I sound like a classical music geek:P

Well, I suggest you grab a piano, sing down to your lowest note, mark it then sing up to your highest then count how many notes are in your range.
Whatever number that is divide it by 8.
That's how many octaves you have.

  • I'm not a good singer, but I usually find myself singing along to my iPod without even realizing it. I guess it's relaxing and fun to me, it's a thing to do when you are upset or mad at someone. I like to sing, shout, or even try to sing at my best. It's calming and exciting.

Five octaves? Wow, I only have like, three. Cry

I think I've posted on here before, but whatever, I love singing.

Don't worry. Last year I only had two and a half; your vocal range can broaden over time.

  • I like to sing- I was in choir for a few years, just school stuff, and I'm not super grand at it or anything.
But I find it hard not to sing! If I'm listening to a song and I can sing it okay, then I just find myself doing it. If I'm with someone I don't know super well, then I'm like, restraining my vocal cords to remain silent, haha. I find that it's a great way to vent emotions too, as pokopox said previously. :]

  • I love singing, I just don't have the confidence (or talent) to pursue anything with it. I might be the only person in the world who dislikes my voice, though...
