Mine didn't either because Mibba didn't exist yet. I actually spent most of the time on GSB. :tehe:

Being a noob is nerve wracking. I remember it well, because I was in the 'totally wtf@urprofile n00bs' category for a long time. XD
I remember looking at the moderators' profile, and going all:
OMFG THE HELL, PEOPLE, CAN I BE LIKE YOU? O PLS?

Plus, their usernames were so creative and...amazing.
I was so intimidated. So intimidated.
    Still am.
    Shifty

I expected that, if I talked to them, they'd be all,
"*snaps fingers* YOU'RE TOO LAME, AWAY WITH YOU."

All of the 'new' Mibba famous, I don't really count
    Shifty
Because the people that are classed as mibba famous, I don't really see round much, so I don't get how they're so famous :S

In my mind it's alwasy going to be Dru, Isa, Petey, Ash, Chelsea, Lena, Mikey, Marlee, people like that, regardless of whether or not they're active on here.

Because they are the famous of the site, not of the time period.

I think there's in reality only a few mibba "famous" in my opinion. But that's just me, of course it depends on the part of the site you hang out with.

In the journals the really well known ones are Bella, silk tea, cola frank, for the birds, brookiekillskittens, i saw sparks, EverRose, florence, gabbylikesmeese But out of all of them I thiink the only ones who are "mibba famous" are bella and silk tea

In the forums though there's like a totally different group of well known ones and those are dru, angus young, mindfreak all the modders.

I've never seen people as "famous" but rather "well known."
Like, the people you see around Mibba all the time, like all the staff and then people like Dru and silk tea.
And I think of them more like, the wise elder council or the wise monks that everyone goes to... they're just nice people and good writers, which gains them respect.

I came onto the boards a bit too late to see the 'original' Mibba famous, but I was here just after they all left and I've been through a sort of.. second and third wave of the well knowns. xD It's totally different now, it's kind of strange, but I don't really see many people as being 'famous' or well known anymore. I do notice people, obviously, just.. I don't think of them in that way.

Dude, agree. I don't know about Mikey 'cause I was too busy reading stories back then but I did come across Fish Camp a few times and the rest... definitely. It's people you know are famous just by looking at their username. People you were scared shitless of as a n00b and people you knew about before you even figured out what the rank under your username meant.

Then of course there's people other people I count as famous yet they're not playing in the same league as those you mentioned. Such as Bert McCookies, Audrey T, Matt Smith (could be 'cause those two are admins), The Doctor and Jinxeh. There's more but I can't think of anyone else right now.

Last but not least, you're on my wall of fame as well Hand

I have no idea who the current "Mibba Famous" people are. I see names rattled off all the time, and usually have never seen that person around, or don't recall them. I dunno. "Back in my day," it was people like Lightning Zap...it's been so long, I can barely remember any of the others. Nowadays, people mostly just rattle off names of their own friends, regardless to if they're well-known on the site. (They might not even realize it's the case, though, to be fair. "I see this person around all of the time and notice them a lot, because they're my friend," etc.)

Being "Mibba Famous" is just a phase, I've come to realize. There will always be Mibbians that are somewhat well-known, but those who others slap the term of "famous" on tend to be fleeting. Like ellis. said, it's just of the time period. People will barely start to complain about them before a new batch will roll in, usually.

EDIT: I just realized how bitchy this post sounds. Facepalm The whole "Mibba Famous" thing just puts me in a bad mood, sometimes. So many people complain about it, because they want to be but aren't, or they just irrationally hate anyone who gets named as such, and it's just drama and aaagghhh. It's such an inconsequential thing, but it can be a pet peeve of mine when discussed in certain ways. XD

She wasn't around for a while, but I just checked out her profile and she last updated a story about a month ago. I'd been wondering about her! She was always so nice.

Personally, I don't think people were ever 100% honest about who's Mibba famous. Shifty Or, maybe a better way to put it would be to say that you unwillingly think of your friends/people whom you admire as Mibba famous or whom you happen to bump into in debate threads a lot because you recognize them around the boards and draw the conclusion that they're on a lot and know a lot of people. Although other people are on just as much/know just as many people you just never notice them. I dunno, I at least remember people I used to talk to from "back in my day", not randomers. So my list of Mibba famous people will probably be different from yours.

I don't really mind people saying this or that person is famous, though. Only when they subtly suggest that they're Mibba famous (and/or just better than you) by saying that they've been on this website for 5879845568 years.

Think 'Mibba Famous' on the board also counts for the individual topics. Think Like when I think of 'General' I think of more people like 'Touch the moon' or 'wrc' (I think that's their usernames anyways) and when I think of RP's, people like 'Green Day' 'Mello' and 'Angelus' pop to mind, even if I don't necessarily talk to these people.

That's how I feel as well. The phrase "mibba famous" has been thrown around a lot and been said to people who "make good themes" I personally think there's more to it than that, but I agree with both you ladies. When I first joined, I believed only two people were actually mibba famous, Dujo and Jospia. Now, I can see others claiming that a little more. But no more than 10 people for sure.

I definitely agree with this. I think it depends on the section of the site you're on and how often those people are seen and "heard" there. When I think of the General Forum "Mibba Famous" Marty Parade comes to mind right away. When I think of the Discussion Boards I always think of Xsoteria and Kafka because they're frequent posters in the Society forums, which are really the only discussion topics I visit. In the Help section, I'd say LadyShrei. In the Tips, Dru. And none of these people are members that I'm necessarily "friends" with, we don't ever really interact or talk, but I do notice them more because they're around more.

I think the only person who I can say I actually really view as Mibba Famous would be Lightning Zap. Because when Jinxeh mentioned the username I just had this wave of nostalgia. When I joined the site, I couldn't go an inch w/o seeing her name. And I don't think we've ever spoken...ever.

I think Mibba famous people are ones who really stand out. For what ever reason, these people have done something to make themselves known - maybe they make great themes, maybe they've been a member forever, maybe they're just very odd and they stand out - who knows!

To me, it's someone who hasn't given up on Mibba yet...I mean there's tons of people who join, post two poems and never come back. The one's who've managed to stay and become a real part of the community are the ones that impress me.
