I think it's ridiculously hard for anyone to determin who's "mibba famous".
For instance, I could mention ten people I see around all the time everywhere. It doesn't mean they're even well known, just that I recognize their usernames because I know them or I'm their friend.

For me "Mibba famous" are the names that were thrown around constantly back when I was still a newb. People like Jinxeh, Dru, The Way and Lightning Zap! were my Mibba famous. I believe it all depends on what part of the site you're talking about. Yet when it comes to all over it would be those three for me. I remember when Zap! and I went at it in the MCR thread going on about facts. She was brilliant. Where did she go anyway? I know I follow her on Twitter.

In the case of myself I don't feel famous but remotely known around here. Yet that was only proven when I won a contest on the MCR site itself and in the comment people kept questioning if I was the same person on Mibba since they had read my fics. Yet that's just me.

Yet for those speaking of the new generation of Mibba famous can you please clue me in on who they are? I'd love to know who's famous now.

Edit: Another thing that might help with the "famousness" is keeping the same name usually. That's just my view. If you keep the same name I think people have a higher chance of remembering you & finding your work.

Yes Agreed 100%. That and avatars. It makes it much easier for people to remember who you are. Names and ava are a big part of identity on Mibba, I think.

I did worry a little bit when I stopped being Bloodraine that people wouldn't know who I was XD But I've been fairly consistent since then, and though I do keep getting the urge to change my username, I don't so as not to confuse people.

You will always be Bloodraine in my book. I felt as though my universe was turned upside down when you changed it. Smiley

That's why I've started keeping "Bella" in my name.
But I've been through a lot of usernames, and I did stop being so known when I changed it away from FrankieMonster that I'd used for nearly two years.

But I agree, I think your name helps one's "claim to fame."

^^ I always recognise people by their usernames, but I think it's fine to change it completely every once in a while, as long as you make it obvious in your sig. I hate it when people say things like that, but in a stupidly tiny size so you can't read it at all. Unless you have something else that distinguishes you, such as an avatar you keep or a unique font for people to recognise you by, I'd say change usernames sparingly unless you keep a feature of it the same, like myself, or Bella, or Dru of course.

I don't tend really to think of people as being "mibba famous". There are the people I see around alot, and the people I talk to regularly, such as everyone on the Mibba Magazine, and people who share the same interests as me, such as IcamaneHatake, Ice Queen and fightoffyourdemons, who are all fellow Harry Potter fans. Not all of them are "mibba famous", but they're the people I know best.

I sometimes used to take the names of my characters just as a joke, but I've almost always just been Jinxeh. Partially, I'm paranoid that someone who dislikes me will take my original name if I switch it to something else, just to mess with me, not even gonna lie. But I'm rather attached to the name, anyway...
