- I'm pretty sure that animals cannot be gay. Being gay means that you LIKE the same sex, and animals don't think the way we do. Animals may have sexual intercourse with an animal of the same sex, but he/she may not know that it is the same sex. Animals don't know what being gay is.
actuallysome wiki: "One species in which exclusive homosexual orientation occurs, however, is that of domesticated sheep. About 10% of rams (males) refuse to mate with ewes (females) but do readily mate with other rams." (page includes citations)
My favourite is black swans, though. (They're also, coincidentally, my state's official emblem.)

- An estimated one-quarter of all black swans pairings are of homosexual males. They steal nests, or form temporary threesomes with females to obtain eggs, driving away the female after she lays the eggs. More of their cygnets survive to adulthood than those of different-sex pairs, possibly due to their superior ability to defend large portions of land.
Those sneaky gays!
My pets don't seem to display gay tendencies, but when I was a kid, we had a budgerigar who seemed to be in love with my mother - very affectionate, groomed her, aggressive to competitors, etc.
